leave pathplayer disabled and go back into common settings - click DVD - dvd protection - uncheck cloud decryption service
restart dvdfab and retry the disc again.

tried that now am getting a disc read error...

originally explorer reported the disc has 71.2 file size?!
on the first posting, I let it run for almost 15 mins before I cancelled.

it just keeps on 'reading' the source disk. have to cancel after 15 mins.

Do you mean that you cannot copy the files from the original movie disc after opening it in Windows File Explorer?
