In the image I attached in Post #10 I do NOT see icons ? I see a drop-down list when I click "Tools", i.e.:
    • Improve System Performance ..
    • Scan for Outdated Drivers ..
    • Scan for System Errors ..

What do you see when you click "Tools" ?

As I mentioned, I have the UniBlue Suite previously installed. Those are UniBlue tools and I want to know what you see ? ? ? And please don't say "Icons" again, or I;ll beat my keyboard into the monitor !!!
When I installed the new Imgburn, I unchecked all the Ask crap, and it installed perfectly, only to find Icons on my Desktop to that if clicked on open your browser and go to the Uniblue Website. I deleted those Icons because Uniblue products are not what I call " Best of Breed". Dont smash your keyboard because then you wont be able to tell me I am wrong again.

Yes I see all the things you see, but you have the Uniblue Suite installed, so it will work, if you do not have the Uniblue Suite or those programs installed it will default to your web browser and open to the Uniblue Website to do a free scan. I knew you were a good guy.

Sad that LUK! found this necessary. If everyone that uses this professional-grade app made a $1 donation he would be rich.

LUK is a very smart man, this is purely business, the application by itself is a great, it still is with this crapware, but advertizing means more R&D and if I wanted to give my work away I would expect the people that use my freeware to understand that advertizing is essential in any business. You are right Signals, if everyone just gave a dollar this would not have been necessary ( most probably) but I do not hold this agaist him, I applaude his effort to keep the program alive and getting better with every update.

The problem is so many don't, and won't. I donate on a regular basis as I started in his previous forum. Plus I use IB a lot, every disc I own has either been burned with IB or DVDD.

I think LUK ought to do the same thing r0lz did and put nag screens or take away some of the features kinda like feng does with DVDHDD.

FYI: A $1 dontation gets eaten by PayPal, need to be at least $5 at a bare minimum.

Same for me also and not sure why, I think this "Ask Crap" was also in version 2500 but that version never installed the desktop icons.

EDIT: Also version 2510 changed two settings in the settings page for "read" and "write" under the file splitting dropdown for those that changed the default setting, I have mine set to "none".

LUK pulled the first version of 2510 since his intent was not to have the Icons leading to Uniblue and put it up again corrected. Now you will still have to decide on the Ask toolbar but that is simple enough to decline.

You are correct regarding donations, I personally donate 25.00 every year or two and would gladly pay for a registration. You will not find a better burning solution.

You can read LUK's comments on the uniblue stuff at VideoHelp under ImgBurn

There is now a new changed installation file released

UniBlue are now unticked as default and
the 3 rows in Tools menu are now gone (ads for UniBlue programs)

But you still have to untick the option to not install the Ask Toolbar

The new released installation file is a little smaller
                      Hubba hubba zoot zoot..........

More confusion, wow, almost afraid to ask ....

That's the same version in the original post by ant1rock, it's also the same version installed on my PC, but as you saw (hopefully) I have the 3 UB items in the "Tools" drop-down.

So how are yours GONE ? Really puzzled !

That is why I asked originally, I thought those might not appear if you didn't have the UB products installed.

FYI (for ALL): I had everything unchecked during the upgrade installation of 2.5.1.0 !!!

Think I'll uninstall ALL the products (UB and IB) and do some more testing.

I posed some questions to my ole friends over at ISF (ImgBurn Support Forum) via email. It was mostly to do with a NEW feature I was looking for, A Queue for Build mode.

I also mentioned adding nag screens instead of adding adware/bloatware.

                          .

sure hope nag screens do not interfere with DVDFab when used with ImgBurn as that would really suck

All that means is you need to DONATE .... if you use IB on a regular basis like I do I think you should donate, don't you ?

I think LUK should get something for all his hard work. Plus I want to see IB stay alive, it's the BEST burn engine on the planet.

                              Better than adware/bloatware !!

                              Regards,

I was able to get a nice, clean install of 2.5.1.0...no icons either
I expanded Icons and Shortcuts just to be certain.

                                I unticked all but
"Main Program Files" (obviously grayed out anyway)
                                "Install for all users"
and "Enable SPTI for all users"
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
