Technically, you can upgrade to windows 11 with your Windows 7 key, if your hardware was new enough. (This desktop I use activates initially with Windows 7 for install before my Business Premium account takes over)
You can upgrade to Windows 11 with your Windows 10 key.
When I replaced my mobo, cpu, ram, etc, it was screaming about an invalid activation. I clicked the enter key manually button, and re-typed my original Win 7 key, and it was happy at that point.
I'd sure like to know how you two are upgrading from Win7 to Win11 for free. Lets see some docs. I'd like to know how it's done. I couldn't no matter which route I took. I couldn't even go the paid upgrade route. The process would ALWAYS fail and revert. But how is that possible? Windows upgrade NEVER has any errors. So it worked for you, without a How-To what's that mean to me?
If you went 7 to 10 to 11 that hardly counts. That path WAS free.
Lorings.
Win11 Pro 22H2, no bloatware, no spyware, no crapware, no TPM, no Secure Boot, no MS account. And yes, you can dual boot 7 and 11.

I have no interest, financial or otherwise in the site.
Or, if you're more inclined for something cheaper remember that MAS is your friend.
Everything I have, except the servers, runs Win 11 24H2 IoT Enterprise LTSC 26100. Not a single dollar spent on any of it.
I've been getting keys from them for a long time now. Although it is a genuine OEM key it will NOT upgrade Win7 to Win11 for free. I should know, that's where I got the key for my current Win11 installation. The argument was you could no longer use a Win7 key to activate Win10 or 11 for free.
If the MAS method you used relies on non enterprise owned KMS servers you can keep it.
I don't recommend running Win7 in a production environment any more but if someone wants to take their time migrating to 10 or 11 I'm their huckleberry. I'll help any way I can. What chafes my ass is statements like penizilla's chastising those who haven't made the conversion yet, which incidentally started all this.

IoT LTSC is activated with a HWID. Windows Activation Status shows "Windows is activated with a digital license." Windows 10 IoT LTSC 2021 will get support through Jan 2032 and Windows 11 IoT LTSC 2024 will get support through Oct 2034.

Activating Windows 11 with a Windows 7 key only works if you opted in to the Windows 10 upgrade first. If you didn't your SOL with that key. You can also skip the product key issues if you link your OS with a MS account. It'll just activate next time you sign in with that account.
Microsoft finally fixed the "Bug" that would let a windows 7 key activate Windows 10 past the deadline if you didn't opt-in first, like 3 years ago.
For upgrading from 10 to 11 any issue I've had actually upgrading to a new major build of Windows, has been something stupid I did, some 3rd party app, drivers for really old hardware. Things I tend to stay away from, Classic Shell, CCleaner. McAfee, Norton, "Professional uninstallers". Also having hardware that meet's the minimum helps too.
I don't think it's possible to go straight to 11 from 7, without first stepping through 10. I've also never tried.
That is the screenshot i posted. It is telling me that although i asked StreamFab to download EAC3 2.0 Audio, it decided to download 5.1 audio or AAC 2.0 audio because they are "better".
What next? You wanted to download TV Show X but it downloaded TV Show Y because it's funnier?

Did it actually download 5.1 (as in you checked with mediainfo) or did it think it download it?
EDIT: Looks like EAC3 2.0 is gone from EVERYTHING. Only EAC3 5.1 for things that i have downloaded 2.0 before.
Wilson.Wang, i guess that right in the middle of the download queue, Netflix made some changes where StreamFab no longer sees the EAC3 2.0. Sorry i got angry thinking StreamFab was guessing what i wanted when actually it couldn't find what i wanted.
