    Netflix H265, hdr, dv, sdr

Hello, since a few updates, NF is only working with HPL and main profile, all the profiles under H265 (HDR, DV, SDR), 1080p aren’t working anymore, or it’s me that is doing something wrong? Each time I tried to download result in a H264 main profile download.

    thanks

    I tried HIGH and selecting H265 - HDR10 and got H264.
    I tried MAIN and selecting H265 - HDR10 and got H264.

Even while downloading, it says H264 even though H265 is selected in settings.

The below Screen Shot shows what SF says using MAIN and selecting H265 - HDR10
REALLY weird, I did not get that message using the HIGH profile.

So it does not look like it's you, as I got these results. There are no other settings I am aware of.
I don't think I ever tried H265 with Netflix, I use HIGH with H264 so may have never noticed it before.

The Netflix module still needs work as some audio is only available in other language other than English and to get English I have to go to settings and change from EAC3 to AAC.

Amazon is the one I use just H265 and it seems to work.

What a waste of time, streamfab's so-called support.
As far as logs, send them via SF itself, send feedback, or via (https://www.dvdfab.cn/member.htm?a=get_support). Sending feedback via SF is also viewable on the member site.

H265 SDR is no more offered for NF since many weeks ..

And the option also will be removed from StreamFab.
I've never used the NF Premium plan, so I was never surprised that HDR10 + DV didn't work for me ..
.. so I can't say anything or test HDR - in log i see only:
      Code:
"code":"FAIL","reportingCode":"PBCS-105","displayCode":"E100","detail":"licensedManifest/playapi-105: Viewable not available - validation error
[Critical]: "[DownloadNetflix]" **** Parse MPD data fail
      .. next manifest level ...
I only use H264 or AV1 for NF (VP9 also works, but I can't see any advantage over AV1)

High + Main Profile have only an effect for Video Codec H264

I forgot since it was so long ago, and Wilson said the option of H265 would be removed from SF, but it has not been removed.
Because I forgot, I tested both HIGH and MAIN profiles. I tend to stick to the HIGH profile.

This just shows even more work is needed, removing the H265 option for the Netflix module, along with fixing the audio issue.
Like I said, I always used, as far as I remember, H264 for Netflix.
I did see a good advantage to using H265 for Amazon.

If I get time I will see if there is really any advantage in trying AV1 since you don't see any using VP9.

        Thanks for the clarification, Germania.

Netflix is just fine as is. The developers have been doing a wonderful job lately, and I think the program is currently working well.

I have explained this many times before.

Movies and TV Shows made by Netflix will be available in H265 HDR
Movies and TV Shows not made by Netflix will be available in H264

The Lost City is not made by Netflix so it is normal it doesn't have H265 available. Look at this screenshot where i put a red X under what will not have H265 and a green checkmark under what may have H265 HDR. You can tell what is made by Netflix because of the N at the top left of the thumbnail.

There are a few exceptions to this rule but it is so rare that it's not worth trying to figure out why. For example, Better Call Saul Season 6 was available in H265 at some point.

The next thing to consider is that at some point, a Movie or TV Show made by Netflix will no longer be available in H265. Take the very good German TV Show Dark. I downloaded it in H265 HDR a couple of years ago but if i try now, only H264 is available. That is why i download new Made by Netflix stuff right away to ensure i will get the H265 HDR version. See my downloaded list:

I forgot to say you need the premium plan to get H265 HDR10 files
