Problem with "main'"high" not being applied in "AAC" voice

The fatal issue of downloading only with the "high" option when the voice is "AAC" is not fixed even in 6.2.2.6

At this point, the developer is either stupid or completely unaware of this fact

I set the VIP setting as the main and selected AAC voice.

The "main" and "high" options in the video are displayed normally. Up to this point, everything seems fine.

As above, only videos that are applied with the "high" option and not the "main" option are downloaded.
This is the most important and critical bug, but it hasn't been fixed at all even after 3-4 weeks.
I've contacted them several times, but the customer service representative only gives stupid answers, and the developer seems to be updating without even testing it himself.

This is a really useless customer service representative and this is the operating method.
I want to know if this is a problem that applies to a specific country or if it occurs in other countries as well.
If it's the same problem, there must have been several inquiries and reports already, so I don't understand why it hasn't been fixed yet.

In 6.2.2.3, it downloads normally with the "main" and "high" options.
If it's a Netflix problem, it shouldn't be working in 6.2.2.3 either.
If it works in 6.2.2.3 but not in later versions, then the developer is incompetent.

ps) There is also a problem where you can only download some subtitles and not all of them. I already asked for this to be fixed, but I gave up.

Then you should directly list all related issues clearly:

EAC3 2.0 was removed by Netflix months ago, causing a new bug:
If you attempt to download something with EAC3/Atmos in the Main Profile, but only AAC 2.0 is available, you'll get the video in High Profile instead.
Only after switching the settings back to AAC will you receive the Main Profile again.

But I already know this will just get ignored again, since you and the devs clearly don't care at all.
That's obvious from your so-called "great" support.

It's really sad that AnyStream is gone. Thankfully, right now, I only rely on Netflix and Disney. The rest I can handle with my own downloader.
At least there I know exactly what I'm dealing with.

The NF selection (new with 6221) is not working correct
(ignored selection, if VIP setting different) - see here

The only advantage of the new NF selection is that you can see the bit rates,
but still you have always downloaded the codec that is specified in VIP Settings.

Have you tried with v6.2.2.6?

Because my settings are set to H265 HDR10 and I can select AV1 in the pop-up and AV1 is downloaded just fine.

I tried with something that doesn't have H265: Barbie

I tried with something that does have H265: Adolescence

They both downloaded as AV1, selected in the pop-up, not H265 HDR10.

I can't test anymore - because after 1st analysis I can't connect to NF in any browser

Try different DNS server/VPN: checked

All other sites/providers without problems ..
.. but NF is no longer accessible for me after 1st analysis
(change selection, download or refresh site no more possible)

Having similar - was able to get a couple downloads to analyze, both failed playback. Tried again next day - 1 analyzed, second didn't - errored out to bad browser page

It seems that Netflix itself is having some problems for a few days now. I also have problems with Netflix not working intermittently. It seems to not affect the downloads - but the page times out - both inside and outside of SF.

From my testing of SF 6.2.2.6, while having 'H264', 'EAC' and 'High Profile' selected in settings:
- if all the audio tracks are in AAC exclusively - you cannot even select the 'Main Profile' in the analysis window (well you can but bitrate will not change)
- if at least one audio track is in EAC3 then you can switch between 'Main Profile' and 'High Profile' and it will work just fine - the download(s) will reflect the selection in the window (including the selected profile - which seems to align with what @jpp72 wrote), assuming that you select at least one EAC3 audio track to download. I have not tested the case where I would select AAC exclusively.

So - at least for me - the only problem with Netflix in SF is what is written in the title of this thread. This is a serious problem IMHO, as for many shows (esp. Asian ones but not exclusively) only AAC audio tracks exist, while the main profile has much better quality / higher bitrate for some reason.

I first noticed the NF timeout late Friday in normal browser
(Chrome, Edge, Brave, Vivaldi, Firefox) with anonymous status (not logged-in)

I have not been able to determine the cause in two hours ..
.. but since it only concerns NF I am sure that the problem is beyond my control

=> My temporary workaround is to disable IPv6 in Network Adapter

Yes, the NF video codec selection seems to work with 6226 (although nothing in the changelog)
but useless for me as long as AAC does not work for my preferred AV1

there's also a new bug introduced around 6.2.2.0, if there is AAC 5.1 available, it doesnt let you download the aac 2.0 tracks, older versions still let you..

The main bug from the title of this thread seems to FINALLY be fixed in SF 6.2.2.7 (from the 'very preliminary' testing I've done).

But... the bug described by @pstnf1 above is unfortunately still there...

I'd suggest starting a new thread for that bug - to make it more visible for the developers. I'll do it myself if you don't ;)

While you're obviously right, it wouldn't make any harm for the users to also know about the bugs - their bug tracker should be very visible and public - but it isn't, if it even exists at all...

Pinging Wilson is also better than nothing - which is what you usually get through their usual support route.

No matter what, how, or where you send it: it gets ignored. Therefore, it doesn't even make sense to post anything at all anymore.

You should either make your own downloader (I've done that for everything except Netflix; Netflix is still a bit difficult) or look for a non-existent alternative (thanks AnyStream for disappearing).

StreamFab WAS good - currently, they absolutely don't care that bugs have existed for months, making the download experience much more difficult.

They'd rather add porn sites; there are enough horny kids who want to pay for that filth.
