Ping uses the ICMP protocol which doesn't have ports like the TCP and UDP protocols.
So it show only that the DNS Server (name resolution) works and target is reachable ..
.. but SF authentication uses a different protocol (TCP) and uses a port (in my test 57531)
Yeah, I get it, but it was Wilson.Wang who wanted the pings. I think they were hoping the user's network had an outage.
I don't think even they know what's wrong.

It may do nothing, but the user can still try deleting the streamfab.ini, as you never know what may be wrong or possibly corrupted in the file.

OTHERWISE, it's no point for anyone other than SF support or OP to post here, as nothing stated, so far, has worked for OP.

Things can't be fully accomplished without proper access.
Things need to be done with active moderatoration.

I tried to Telnet to port 57531 but no go...

      AceDaMack:

Open a command prompt as an Administrator and type:

      Code:
      netstat -b -f
As soon as you press enter, open StreamFab and try to activate it.

This should show us where it is trying to connect and which port... Then you can create an explicit firewall rule to open that port outbound

Just wait for the next version. Maybe the problem will magically be solved...
NEVER use the update function within Streamfab. Always download the offline file!

Maybe once authorized users have no issue (as SF is still going fine for others), or this is a VERY VERY small localized issue, as possibly 2 out of how many users are having issues.

No one knows when the next version will come, and then there is nothing to say it is going to fix such a small localized issue.

Maybe for some reason, since it seems it's up to ports now, the port(s) are blocked, but again, by what? Is it the user's router or firewall?
As I know, my ISP modem/router combo insists on having a firewall, and I have it set to either the lowest or off, as Windows Firewall handles it all perfectly.

OP has not said if they ever got a reply from feedback/support, we only had the one post here by Wilson. All that can be done is wish them well.

And it's not a combo of DVDFab, Unifab, or any other fab, as I have most of them installed all on one computer, and all work fine together.
Just checked DVDFAB 12, 13, and UniFab (x64).

I also have to add that in my Windows firewall only thing that is listed is YoutubeToMP3Service. Nothing else is listed that has to do with streamfab.
So that means my Windows firewall just allows it without even prompting. Only prompted or specific items associated with Windows seem to be listed.

Still nothing, been waiting all day to get this working just to sit here without a response. SMH scheduled to look for a fix with a dev, time came and past just silence.

I hate to talk money back, as streamfab has strict rules, but I think this should be an exception to the rule, as you can't use the software if they refuse to help you activate it.
Maybe even see how long back it goes, as sometimes you can dispute via CC, but even that, I found the CC has limits as to how long since purchase you can then ask for a dispute of the charge.
In other words, it could be too long to even ask the CC to dispute the charge.

Very unsettling to hear they never got back to you. No matter how you try to contact them, it seems it takes close to 48 hours or more for any reply. Although I thought a few times about emailing them at either contact_form@dvdfab.cn or service@dvdfab.cn or support@streamfab.com, but I have a sinking feeling it still will take at least 48 hours between contact, and some of these email addresses may even bounce the email attempt.

I think I only heard of a handful of people they were to help via remote, but I don't know if they too ended up in the same situation as you or not.

On a personal note, TeamViewer sucks as years went on, although streamfab or dvdfab may pay for it, if you try the free version you will quickly get a prompt saying you used it too much even when not using it for months and asking to pay for the so-called free version. RustDesk. Chrome Remote Desktop and, even at times, AnyDesk are better in that way.

It's just to the point that it doesn't look like it's something any member will figure out, as not many had the issue, and it needs SF support to address it. I lost count of how long I used some DVD FAB products and never had it say (it won't connect to servers, it's telling me to check my connection). The worst was a bad password, and after typing it in 2 or 3 times, making sure no spaces, etc. I got activated.

StreamFab64.exe full inbound and outbound TCP and UDP on all ports and same for QCef.exe

Why not temporarily disable the firewall and see if that works

For your router, I don't think you need to do a factory reset, since you were able to activate with VPN. That means it's either something with your IP or your DNS server.

So for the IP, it could be that your IP is blacklisted because someone who used that IP might have done some malicious things or, very unlikely but still possible, was using a cracked version of StreamFab. Like I said, highly unlikely because if you blacklist a pirate, you do it with the MAC address and not IP address.

When it comes to the DNS, it could be the issue based on where you are located. For example, in the UK, ISPs must block access to certain domains. If you use your ISPs DNS servers, everything DVDFab may be blocked.

At this point, what i would try is manually setting the DNS servers on the router itself could fix your issue. Set it to Google or Cloudflare as suggested and then unplug the router for 10-15 minutes to try and get a new IP. Then try activating again with the new DNS servers. Make sure you run ipconfig to confirm your computer is now using the proper DNS servers.

Finally, because Chameleon and others have experienced issues, it could very well be a server-side issue (very likely).

I doubt they get 100's of activations a day, so it's easy to think it's a user localized issue. I, for one, am not willing to test deactivating and reactivating just in case I suddenly can't authorize.

Jack, as I think we discussed this once, and you could easily see (me, not so much anymore), all the IP addresses coming into DVDFab fall into the IP range owned by CloudFlare no matter what your actual IP address is. There is an admin feature as part of VBulletin to check which user owns a particular IP address. It is not unusual to see multiple users listed to those CloudFlare addresses. So, I agree with you, they would never use such a thing for blacklisting purposes.

nothing seems to work I don't know what the problem is but i can only use when I'm on a VPN. Really frustrating even if I was to do a full PC restore i will still be the same I don't know what else to do. I couldn't even get TeamViewer to work so a dev could help.

Well untill I can get this solved would it hurt for me to just authenticate while using my VPN for the time being and grab what shows I need to get? Or I shouldn't be authenticate while using VPN? I have express.
