That's very strange. I also received an email from a different region than mine. And a curious fact is that the email I received ends like this:

“How can I verify that this email is from Amazon? Emails from Amazon are always sent from @amazon.com.”

This is the first time I've received an email from Amazon that needs to state that it's official.

After posting this, I saw people on Reddit saying that their accounts had been banned. Including people who had hardly downloaded anything.

Yeah once again it’s random and I’m not sure it’s still happening after the new updates

I agree it does seem random, and versions 6247/6248 may have fixed it. BUT activity is still being looked at going several weeks back, before these versions were out and emails are still being sent relating to older activity. This is not speculation. Nothing in the email states what or WHEN the triggered event(s) occurred. But I know that the older usage is an issue that may still result in a response.

I get that it makes sense to assume its just recent things, but who knows how they're investigating the flags and or if its back-logged.

I really hope the new versions did address it, but sadly older stuff may not be out of the clear just yet.

I agree with this assessment which is why many of us have made new accounts and use it only for this and are reporting on usage. There is no backlog in these accounts so if it is triggering then we will know based on this. For me so far all is well using only 6247/6248 both included with prime and purchased items

Just a mention from my own thoughts. If Amazon is REALLY trying to put a stop to this vs just tamping it down, then posting workarounds or info how you got things to work here, is bad in my opinion because there is zero chance they are not reading this. So saying I got XYZ to work will result in them filling that hole in short order.

I've been downloading using all my available 100 daily credits on both my regular and burner accounts and I still have not received any emails. I'd also like to mention I've almost always used a VPN on the main account. The burner account I made a few weeks ago has not been using a VPN and still no warning emails from Amazon. Both of my accounts are US based.

This has to do with leaked/banned PlayReady CDM - see page 16+17 (info) ..
.. but SF use WideVine CDM for Amazon - see here

Do not change IP addresses frequently to access, especially new accounts. (It is best to use a unique residential IP. Do not change your IP address unless absolutely necessary. If you have to change your IP address, use the IP address of your region and do not change it to another country or region.)
Do not use a card that has been bound to a locked account. Do not purchase digital products right after registering a new account.
First, set a valid real address and phone number in your area. After two or three days, purchase some actual goods and confirm receipt.
The purpose of this is to prove that your account is used by the real and valid holder.
Then move on to buying digital products and subscriptions, but don’t buy or subscribe to too many at once.
It is important to note that it is best to bind a new credit card, preferably one issued by Amazon. And avoid using virtual cards.

After the above operations, you can at least avoid your account being locked in the short term.

Even so, as Amazon continues to strengthen its investigation of account security and legality. Any suspicious browsing data may be recorded for investigation at a later date.
Therefore, there is no 100% guarantee that a personal account will not be locked, even if it is legal to use.

My friend had an account for 10 years, but was completely locked out a few days ago because he changed his IP to browse and watch streaming.
And all you can do from now on is learn from your mistakes and be careful.

I had already used two PV accounts outside Europe before this topic
was created, and I constantly switch between different countries
(sometimes 4 countries within an hour - of course not same ip/provider),
but I did not receive an email for either of the two accounts.

However, my main account in Germany has never been used outside Germany
and never changed the payment method and I received the warning.

This is nonsense- most ISPs only offer static IP address as a premium option (yes, even for what are considered more-or-less "nailed down" connections such as cable or fibre) as those IP addresses are literally... a premium nowadays
