StreamFab for Windows Unable to open StreamFab after fresh install

Trying to resolve issues by doing a fresh install of StreamFab, now the application will not even open on my PC. I have done multiple fresh installs, but the last version of StreamFab that will open on my PC is 6.2.4.7. I have done multiple uninstalls, removing all files, reg keys and all. Running as admin. When I try to launch StreamFab I get the splash screen and it says "Accessing server information" but icon goes spinning wheel and task manager says it is not responding. Support hasn't helped other than saying to download offline installer and install fresh. Any suggestions. I don't use a VPN, I've turned off AV, nothing seems to help.

    > Running as admin

That's the problem - don't run as admin

Presumably you are uninstalling before reinstalling streamfab and not just installing on top of the faulty version?

First, check your boot drive (C) for any errors using sfc, dism, chkdsk etc. If SF is installed on something other that C, then scan that as well.

If that's all clear, then uninstall streamfab using something like Revo Uninstaller - this will also clear out any registry settings and hunt down any residual streamfab files. Remove everything it finds. Then try reinstalling. If there's a corrupted registry entry relating to streamfab, this is likely the only way to fix it - simply reinstalling will usually leave the corrupted entry and will prevent SF from running, no matter how many times you reinstall it. This will also be true if you use the add/remove programs feature in windows - it always leaves behind a lot of detritus.

Oh, and SF works fine on W10.

I am running Win 10 Pro x64 v22H2, I have run through sfc, dism on my C drive. I uninstall SF each time using Revo on advanced mode to fully find everything, I have even manually gone in and removed everything. I am no beginner at this stuff been working on PCs since DOS and Windows 3.1. I was able to get the last time I tried to actually provide a crash report. It's just really strange that ever since 6.2.4.8 my application wont open past the splash screen.

Did you grant access to the YouTube to MP3 process during installation?
NEVER use the update function within Streamfab. Always download the offline file!

It appears after installation. If you don't confirm it, StreamFab won't work.

Is that a pop up for Windows firewall? I have never seen any pop up like that after my install. I am running Avast One antivirus / firewall. I have tried completely disabling it as well during install and while running. I have also added in exceptions for SF and its directories.

Yes, I don't know how it behaves if you use firewalls and antivirus programs from other manufacturers.

I only have Microsoft Defender, and the window appears there.

Make sure to first reboot the computer.
Then follow this post step by step.
Making sure to delete everything from %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\DVDFab\StreamFab\ & %USERPROFILE%\Documents\DVDFab\StreamFab\
Skip deleting streamfab.ini or at least back it up in another location.
After this, reboot the computer again and get the latest SF version from https://www.dvdfab.cn/mlink/download...=StreamFab_x64.

Then try again. If still issues, it could still be something with Avast One antivirus/firewall. Although if it's really turned off, you should then get a Windows firewall prompt for streamfab to access the Internet, and you should definitely allow it.
Those with just Windows Defender/Windows Firewall have few issues. I added MalwareBytes and still have no issues with streamfab.

One other thing, if it still is CRASHING, check the Windows Event Viewer; it may show the conflict or what's causing the crash.

ADDED: You may maintain your Windows 10, but still check if it has all the final updates. I don't use my Windows 10 computer much and found an older program was still installed on it, causing Windows 10 to crash, thanks to Event Viewer.

If you continue to have issues, again delete streamfab.log and open streamfab until issues happen again, and then just attach the streamfab.log.
Because in the crash report, the streamfab log goes all the way back to 09-01.

I'm going to try what you suggested Stan once I have some time today, but in regard to Event Viewer, I did look there and it was not very helpful

                              try resetting you host file.
Host file is default and has nothing in it in relation to dvdfab or streamfab.
