    Back again!

Passkey just crashed. Still getting read errors.

Tried AnyDVD and it's reporting this error when trying to read the disc.

    Summary for drive E: (AnyDVD HD 8.3.7.0, BDPHash.bin 19-05-23)
    BUFFALO OPTICAL DRIVE BU10
    Drive (Hardware) Region: 2
    Current profile: BD-ROM
    Media is a Blu-ray disc.

Total size: 28818080 sectors (56285 MBytes)
    Video Blu-ray label: CAPTAIN_MARVEL
    Media is AACS protected!
    AACS MKB version 68
    Drive supports bus encryption!
    Disc wants bus encryption!
    couldn't retrieve AGID (bus encryption)!
    ERROR processing Blu-ray disc!

The Buffalo drive was downgraded by DVDFab's Drive tool.

    Does this help?

And when I say crashed. It gave me three empty boxes to click on. The first one on the left sent me to the purchase page, the second in the middle seemed to process the disc, but when it came to ripping to the HD all I got were read errors.

I'll try ignore all and see what's produced.

Also, and this may also help, MakeMKV is reporting "Can't read AACS VID from disc - most likely current AACS host certificate is revoked by your drive".

I think I may have got to the bottom of this issue. Could it be the firmware that DVDFab's Drive Tool has put on to my drive that's causing the issue?

Is there a work around, or a fix for this?

I do appreciate all the help.

BU10 should work with dvdfab and makemkv you can always cross flash it to a bu40n its the same drive and see if that fixes it

You have the same buffalo drive as I do, only mine is region 1. Have you tried the current version of any dvd which is 8.3.7.3 beta?

I don't think is the problem, as I see exactly what you see in DVDFab, but had no trouble with MakeMKV, and I'm using an LG drive.

Thanks Mona! Appreciate it! I've also invested in a UHD friendly drive (rather than official) to see if that makes a difference. You can never have too many drives, right?

My kudos goes to everyone else that's helped and commented too.

It's nice to have a respectful forum to play on!

Try updating to any dvd 8.3.7.3, it's the latest version. 8.3.7.0 is old and doesn't support new protections the way 8.3.7.3 does.

Will do. Just doing some test rips with DVDFab on the new drive, just to make sure it's working.

Got this with a disc that was ripped perfectly by DVDFab just minutes ago.

This whole ripping lark is becoming more of a pain than expected.
