    UHD Copy WB Titles/Logo

    Hello DVDFabers!

I've noticed something with WB UHD discs. The opening WB logo (not the one included in the film itself) is playing slowly and since the sound can't sync up on the amp, white noise.

I've noticed this on the first four Harry Potter discs, but not the last four.

Yesterday I copied Wonder Woman and got the same issue, but not with The LEGO Batman Movie. Both were processed with the same kit.

Shazam!, also WB and DC doesn't have an issue. The logo is intact.

There are no problems with the films themselves, just this opening logo. Once they play out (about 2 to 3 times longer than what would normally be expected of the WB logo) the sound is fine on the menus too. I can jump directly into the film but sometimes you just want to have the menu sitting on screen.

A weird glitch to say the least.

I'm using an Egreat A10 media player, which I know could be the cause of the problem as it's in dire need of a software update, and when I've played the titles through Kodi (18.4) the title within the ISO plays fine on the same machine.

I just wanted to know if anyone else had this issue with the same kit.

I have noticed this on one or two titles with an A9 (the Fab Movie Server), not sure if they were WB and the rest of the title played fine.

Had the same issue with DeUHD so I'm going to put it down to the playback software. I've posted the issue on the Egreat support forum so I'll see what they come back with.

      Thanks for looking!

Fixed it, sort of by accident.

Was messing around with the sound settings on the A10 and turned off "DTS Compatibility Mode" and "TrueHD Compatibility Mode", put the "Passthrough" on to Auto.

Now when the logo shows after the ISO's loaded it's at the correct speed but without sound. That I can live with!

Incidentally, I did read somewhere on the Egreat forum that the compatibility modes options are a mis-translation and turning them on forces the audio stream out in PCM.

Having those options on, thinking that I was making the player compatible with those audio formats, it forced the player to decode a stream that possibly doesn't need decoding. Think of it as an annoyance bug that could have been deliberately put there by WB, it's a long shot but it's possible.

Also having the compatibility options switched on old DVD ISO's with DD5.1 and DTS5.1 soundtracks were coming out raw (whitenoise) and I had to tell the amp that it wasn't compatible with DD or DTS so it decoded the audio as another format. PCM? AAC? Can't remember.

Anyway, anything I throw at the player/amp is decoded correctly. All the way from 1.0 to 7.2. This makes me a happy man and the neighbourhood a louder, bassier place!

Don't know why I changed the options in the first place! Must have had a beer or two and thought it was a good idea!
