Choppy, audio sync issues on HD .mvk files

    Hi,
I just received this unit today and can not figure out how to get my HD .mvk files to play smooth and audio is in sync (but this may be cause of the choppy video.

These same files play fine on a seagate player and a sony smp-n200 player.

    PLEASE HELP

This should have not had this problem out of the box, What Is the problem?

I tried a bunch of settings and nothing even slightly fixes it.

    Thank You

    I am in USA

I can't get it to play youtube videos either, it comes up with errors or reboots the device.

        Hi,
First I really want to thank all that help me on this, THANK YOU!

Second I'm sorry for not providing more details (I should have known better).

I live in MA, eastern part of USA.

I have read (I think a tread in here) that this worked for someone before the update, now I am kicking myself for not trying the unit before the update, i'm used to the updates (being I have a seagate TV, and sony smp-n200, that play these files fine and are much older than this is).

I have tried to play these HD .mvk files (720 or 1080p) either UPNP from a server and thru a hard drive connected to the USB post on the side of this unit.
Video is choppy on some, audio is way out of sync on all (so far), video is less choppy on some, and some .mvk files make this reboot.

I also last night tried to play youtube videos from the youtube player built into this vidon.me and that either did not play or rebooted the vidon.me.

So now I am thinking I may need to factory reset this device (like I did on my seagate) after I took the update, I let the vidon.me update right away and maybe it needs to be factory reset? (by holding down a reset button on the unit and plugging in power or something to that effect) (hopefully it has one).

I did notice my audio was in 2 channel mode, but any more specific than that and I will have to post back later with details.

        THANK YOU TO ALL!!!!!

            Hi,
And THANK YOU for the quick response!!!!

I cant find any reset button on it, but the power button may act as one, I will try tonight after work.

PLEASE try before you do any updates then update and try again after, but try youtube movie video's before and after as I can't get them to work, and I have the update.

I had to sign for it, a slip was left yesterday, I went to my main UPSP branch and they had it there at 4:00 pm. for me at least.

will look into the audio tonight, I hope you get yours, I really need help with this.

            THANK YOU

this vidon.me will not play youtube videos from the video app that was installed on it, keeps freezing the unit, and now I have to unplug it from AC.

I really wish DVDfab's response to here was hours not days, I am not getting any warm feeling about this device except that I paid for a paperweight that cost me $100

I tried different audio out settings and so far nothing has slightly fixed anything.

Jonatan I hope you get yours today, I need help.

              Thank You

I received mine one day before I have had to go away but I quickly tested with 1080p & 720p MKV test files that I had ready and all was fine.

How is your unit connected to the network?
Have you tried playing the same files from a USB drive attached directly to the unit?

The symptoms you have are consistant with a network bottleneck.

I won't even comment on the YouTube crap as this has been a continual bane of ALL players that attempt to do this because of continual change of the YouTube API. IMHO, all player manufacturers should just forget it!

Yes on connecting a USB drive directly to it, same problem.

                  How many did you try?

I gave up on the youtube app, I did install the CBS app and that played fine.

I need my .mkv files to play in this.

did you do the update yet for it?

                  Thank You

                      non powered, NTFS

I don't know what is going on but now it seems my .mkv are playing fine from a USB and my UPNP server ??????

same .mkv files from 2 hours ago that did not work, WHAT is going on???????

I don't get it????? This is the strangest thing ever, same files that were choppy and rebooted this vidon.me are now playing ???? What the HE??

i Need to reinstall this were I want it now.

I hope I don't have an intermittent unit, this will suck big time.

Ok I got the choppy video back by pressing the audio button on the remote ( the button right below the yellow button), then instant choppy video.

Now I stopped the .mkv file and went into
                        System
                        settings
                        system
                        Audio output

I have analog selected for audio output
and speaker configuration I have 2.0

Now I moved the 2.0 to 2.1 then selected 2.0 again and it is back to normal

I was playing with this earlier with no luck on anything but went back to 2.0 last (this is what I remember)

From my experience, I have found that the applications for nearly all players (whether they be Android or Linux based) have pretty poor memory management and some apps do not release unused memory when exited.

A standard operating procedure that I use to test any playback problems is to play the suspect file straight after a clean reboot. If it plays fine, it usually indicates that something that I was doing on the player previously was not releasing memory.

Don't forget this class of player has minimal memory compared to say, XBMC running on your PC.

There are certainly tricks to improve this but I won't be able to get onto them until I get back home.

                          Regards
                          Greg

I tried to reboot this many times with absolutely no results in helping.

Audio is out of sync a little, I know other xbmc programs had a way to compensate, does this one?

I do also notice some audio problems , but it may be that cheap hdmi cable that came with this.

A good HDMI cable did not fix the audio a reboot of the device did.

                            Edit:
It's still not up to standard with my sony smp-n200 in reliability, at least when streaming the video gets distorted on fast paced scenes that my at least 2 year old sony does not have problems with.

I hope some type of setting, but this is not looking good still.

Jonatan did you receive yours yet?
