When will there be a firmware update

When will there be a firmware update for these units? They are complete useless and we keep being told to wait - be patient. What is release schedule to make these units usable?

I tried to drop a Hint back a couple weeks ago what good customer service can do your you and your future business. I see how frustrated everyone as getting with not just the STB but with DVDFab support. Not a word since acknowledged the issue and that they were hiring to get it fixed.

My box has issues but I do get some use out of it, I am just careful what I ask it to do. I knew it was a gamble when I sent in my money, so I assumed part of the risk. Look what happen to Microsoft and their attempts are hardware, so did fine, so were flops.

Please, Just a word, a note, a "I feel your pain" and it is going to take 3 months, 6 months, a year to sort this out. Or we can't get their from here.

None of the forum staff have any idea, sorry. I can tell you that a group of users that have professional experience with media players are assisting the developers on this.

CPU, GPU, RAM, etc.
Maybe can use alternative firmware...

Well I certainly have as well and I assume from the silence so have DVDFab as there has not been any progress report whatsoever from them for many weeks, which is very disappointing. You would have thought they would at least let users know what they have done and are doing and some sort of timeline if possible, to at least give us some hope.

I ended up buying a Mede8er MED600X3D which although more expensive is absolutely superb and it play all my BD ISO's I had prepared for the VidOnme and it even plays 3D ISO's as well and supports Samba shares and NFS shares.

I hope this is not a paperweight and they give refunds if they can't fix it, but my phone can play lots of files and so should this (android MX player, HINT)...

Thanks for that info on the Mede8er MED600X3D, but seems very expensive and my sony $35 used and $50 new smp-n200's are playing everything just fine now, and if they don't play something, I just re-convert it.

But it did take the mac version of DVDfab a year, about to mostly work for me, actually this latest updates on that have been working great now and its 11/2 years latter.

But it did take the mac version of DVDfab a year, about to mostly work for me, actually this latest updates on that have been working great now and its 11/2 years latter.

I did actually get a refund but did not get the VAT (20%) element back and they had to do the refund via PayPal because too much time had elapsed for a card refund, then PayPal took a chunk out of the refund leaving me with a loss of 24$ on the deal and DVDFab said scrap the box or keep it.
So I only want this box to work in order to sell it to get the rest of my money back.

How did you get a refund? The only reason I bought the DVDFab All in One - Lifetime software package was because of this unit. I rarely use the software and for the most part use the free DVDFab to remove the encryption. Besides that I use Handbrake.fr for most conversion.

I wasted $300 on this and the box is useless and there are no updates from anyone on when or if it will be fixed.

If I can get a refund they can have their software and hardware back.

I emailed them stating that it was NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE and did not do what they originally stated what it would do, especially the ability to play BD ISO's, which is why I purchased it in the first place.
A friend of mine who got one free with the Lifetime software pack actually got a full refund as he said he was going to contact American Express if they did not do so. He even managed to get extra for the PayPal transaction charge, something I did not bother doing as it was too much extra hassle and I had enough.
