Can Fab be programed to skip disk scratches

I understand Fab can be programed to skip read errors if small or even be adjusted to skip more sectors in software settings.I have never seen this work when programed or even if not programed and your prompted with a read error by fab abort/retry.I have never seen retry work for a scratched disk.

What I would like to see if Fab can skip all bad sectors until theirs good reliable sectors skipping over a deep scratch until Fab see's readable sectors.

This will cut the bad section of the movie out of encoding the copy and will result in some picture loose but will save a disk from not being able to be copied at all.Can this be done?

I said in my post I know how Fab is suppose to work with read errors and how to adjust it.

My request is for a version that really works to skip over bad sectors in a disk that has DEEP scratches.I don't think this part of Fabs software is ever meant for this purpose.If that's what it suppose to do it has never worked and i mean never for a disk with deep scratches.

Trust me i tried to save many friends home made video's on disk because of deep scratches on the disk i couldn't save any part of their home made wedding video's and it would be nice if Fab could skip over scratches and save the wedding and other baby video's.even with the lose of the bad sectors the rest of the video would be savable and that's what I am asking for.

They say here at Fab ask and you may get it so I ask.......

It can actually copy discs that a standalone player won't play. Just set the "retries" to a higher number and turn off the read ahead cache if you have a problem disc. The "abort/ignore etc." box comes up after the retries number is exceeded.

I understand what you are saying however once fab picks up a read error for a DEEP scratch once no amount of retry's work even with the read ahead catch is off.This may work for a small error i want something to read a large error such as a deeply scratched disk at the expense of cutting the bad sectors out of encode so fab can save the rest of the information on the disk.

I would like Fab to skip over read errors until it finds good sectors so a disk with a DEEP scratched (large error) can be saved.

You can set Fab to skip i believe a max of 60 sectors maybe it needs to skip more than 60 sectors to work for a large error>I would like to here the developers answer if this can be done or some improvement to find the next good sector on a disk so large errors (deeply scratched disks can be saved).

I just brought this request up again because so many people have trouble with a single small deep scratch on disks and it trips up the encoder/decoder even if you set Fab settings to skip all read errors and set the read ahead catch to off and skip maximum amount of sectors.

My request is can Fab be made to skip over the bad spots knowing it may cut a section of the movie in order to save a disk maybe one with important pictures and video on it.This will save many disks from not being able to copy them.Ofcause this feature should be made to turn it off and on so all user's have a choice for a perfect copy or a copy that is saved with maybe a bad spot skipped over.I am talking about copy disk as well as encode/decode in copy and ripper.

I really would like to here from Fab developers on this request thanks.

Signals:Just so we are on the same page here I am able to make a 50 gig iso of a disk without errors or any errors in the log file on two different 3d disks that i have a problem with.Logs attached disregard the star trek stuff as i had a job going on still so i could do these logs in a second opened fab program.Now you have new log files with the latest Fab version 9.They don't speak of any errors.

This happens during converting to side by side using 3d ripper m2ts audio copy normal speed with or without cuda same results.Also tried with MKV same results.

During conversion when you look at the two video frames being made in the viewer during live encoding the process stops hangs and the Frame count goes down to 0.

If you look at the two frames of video one side is clear video and the other side has some blocking or a bad frame normally this is a single frame of video that the encode/decoder stops and can't move forward.When playing the 50 gig iso on the computer sometimes the player skips over the bad part or hangs a second then keeps going.

So a player in this case power dvd 11 sometimes will skip over or hang a second a then keep playing.So we know theirs a bad spot in the 50 gig iso that the encoder doesn't seem to be able to skip over although i tried your latest settings exactly but they didn't work.No other setting in software has ever worked for this type of error or deep scratches when making the Iso.
Trust me on this as I been using this program many many years.

Now a question is the software (using the menu in settings) regarding skipping sectors for the copy to iso (reading only from disk) or does it also work on reading iso's during the ripper process to another format?

So this is what I am asking for when Fab reads a error or finds a reason to hang up because of some defect in the iso or disk can't it be programed to skip over the error or bad spot and look for the next good sector without defect so the encoder/decoder can go back to work.

While it's still fresh on my mind it seems to me the sector skipping program was in Fab before blu rays were even invented so this question comes to my mind.

Was this part of Fab programing ever meant to be used with blu rays and multi streaming 3d blu rays or does it just work with normal dvd's? doe's it work in blu ray ripper,blu ray copy, or with 3d disks?

I bet only a developer can answer this question.

If the feature works why are so many people having trouble with scratched and defected disks? Why doesn't the bad spot get skipped over?
Why does the encoder/decoder freeze up at the bad spots and the frames per second count down to 0 and why is their no log error's recorded?

I suspect because they have not tried the settings, which are extreme--you may well wind up with minutes missing, not a few frames, depending on where the scratch is. This would not be acceptable I think to most. A chance that better results would be obtained by setting the retries to a much higher number, like 8 or 9, and letting it grind on it for a while. This would minimize the missed video.

Well I tried it on 3 new 3d movies (iso's 50 gig) and used it many times at different settings in the past and the results are all the same it just doesn't work matter of fact let me here from all 35,604 fab members did anyone use this and was able to skip over a bad spot in a disk or Fab made iso? Minutes missing is a lot better then loosing a whole wedding video or baby's 1st xmas.Fab is used for more than store brought movies.

Try table polish on the disc, has seem to work on a lot of my old back-ups!

I DON'T BURN ANYMORE, use Media PLayer! No more disc problems or Cinivina problems!:)

I really wish Fengtao would address this as their are so many people that have read errors in their logs and it would be great to have a product that can really skip over bad scratches in disks something that can be turned on and off when needed knowing you may loose a part of the movie doing so but can save a important disk or home movie with un replaceable memory's.

The settings in Fab to do this just never work on many disks I tried over the years at any settings.The number of logs posted by many people confirms this even though not every read error is a bad scratch most defer to this problem and gets solved using a new disk.In most cases this can't be done with disks that are not commercial movies that are unreplaceable.

Fengtao I have seen your team do some amazing things to Fab over the year's
and won't put this request to rest knowing your team has produced things I never thought Fab would include.When i brought a lifetime license for Fab I never expected to get CRF encoding and many other goodies over the years like 3d copy and ripper so now I address something everybody has trouble with at one time or another scratched disks.
