... as soon as the trial is over on my other computer I will prove everyone wrong that seem to think something is wrong with it
AGJ, you've got a lot of patience. You might try to manually advance the date on the PC beyond the 30-day period, and that should cause the expiration process to kick in. Once expired, you could probably reset the date setting back to the actual date. I've never done this before so I'm just speculating now...
I read all of that and that is not the problem. Because I tried running DVDFab with "Run as Administrator" and it worked, plus the 1st popup window, "Welcome to DVDFab" had all the options listed as if I'd never used the program before. That was the 1st time it had been run from the Admin account or with Admin privledges.
Bottom line here is, the trial version expiration is taking HD Decryptor with it. Someone......preferably with not so short arms and not so deep pockets...please prove me wrong.
you did not say what movie it was new or old so it is the problem and as soon as the trial is over on my other computer I will prove everyone wrong that seem to think something is wrong with it
You are trying to do a movie that the free version has not been updated to handle copy protection on. With that said you need to read what is in the link below

I would like to help you, but I do not understand how that works.
I've been using DVDFab HD Decryptor for some time. I went to back up a movie this morning and got the "you need to buy or renew DVDFab DVD to DVD ..." error. I've been going through the forums and have seen several others with the same problem. I have yet to find a solution, in the forums, with the possible exception of purchasing DVD Fab.
In the event of a future, possible solution, here's the detailed info of what's going on:
1. I insert the DVD and start DVD Fab.
2. I get the popup titled "Welcome to DVDFab" with the various options listed and whether or not they're expired.
3. I select the bottom option "HD Decryptor" (its listed as enabled and never expire).
4. On the same screen, I click on "OK".
5. It initially reads the DVD, then giving the popup asking to specify the DVD's region code. I select the proper one and click on "OK".
6. It tries to open the DVD source for a few seconds, then displays the following pop-up error message: "To open the DVD disc, you need to buy or renew DVDFab "DVD to DVD", or you can wait for new version of DVDFab HD Decryptor." The only option given is to click on "OK" at which point it stops trying to open the source DVD.
Running it from the blue question mark, at the top, from "About" gives exactly the same results.
I'm using version 6.1.2.5 and Vista Home Premium x64.
So, is there a way to get HD Decryptor to rip the DVD to the hard drive ?
Thanks
