This will vary a little from time to time dependiing on the server load and internet conditions.

I see the point of this thread as in trying to troubleshoot and improve the communication between the program and the server so as to improve start up speed.

Even if this means finding new means of communicating with the server so as to avoid problems and to speed up the validation process.

My start up times are generally 1½ minutes or longer and that includes the new release, v9060

I have an enhanced high speed DSL connection and I use a NetGear DGN1000 ADSL2+ (wireless disabled) and an ASUS RT-AC66U Router.
        I also use OpenDNS

My connection is good enough where I can watch a lot of high definition videos online without any buffering or having to switch to a lower resolution.

Here is my tracert log from a few minutes ago

I've been having the same issues as well, but with much longer opening times. My times on 4 different machines one of which is a freshly loaded Intel I5 3.6ghz all take well over 10 mins and most times over 15 mins to open. Each one of my computers including my laptop are at least 3.0ghz Intel quads ranging from the I5, 1 I7 and 2 AMD 8350 Octo's at 4.4ghz all with at least 8GB of ram and the 2 AMD's have 16GB and 32GB ram. Internet is DSL 4mb/1mb Here are my 2 logs.

Our routes are very different. Try pinging it with 512 byte packets with the -t switch and let it run for 2-3 minutes, then ctrl-C to quit and check the packet loss and average turnaround time.

              As requested,

Here is the overview results from the 3 min ping.

              Code:
              Ping statistics for 184.107.48.214:
                  Packets: Sent = 196, Received = 196, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
                  Minimum = 65ms, Maximum = 284ms, Average = 72ms
if you want the whole file of it let me know and I'll post that as well.

No need, that is clean.. I had expected high packet loss, which is not evident, but indicates lots of retries. My startup time is about 12 seconds with only slightly faster (43 ms) turnaround.

They are checking on it. They report the startup time should be improved in v9.0.6.0 compared to previous versions.

It's got me confused as well, as this has only started to happen with the last 4 to 5 releases I would guesstimate. In the earlier v9 versions I had very quick startup times as well

Try defragging your hard drive then delete Fab then run (cc cleaner a free program on the web) to get rid of any junk files and then clean your registry with it.Then re download fab. This clears up a lot of strange problems and may help you.

I use an SSD drive so Defrag is not really needed, but I did it anyways already as well as your other suggestions before I even posted about this.

Also if you would note this also happens on a new build computer I just did with the Core I5 with all fresh install.

Signals Did you ever get a response on this issue? None of the newer versions have had any improvement on my end with the start up times. I've gotten to where I just leave a copy running for each of my optical drives running in the background now unless there is a new release, so that I don't have to wait that very annoying and frustratingly long time for the start up of the program.

Once it loads up it works just fine and really quickly, it's just the start up times that are so slow.

They made some updates to the servers and to the things it does at startup. I am seeing about 8-10 seconds now, which is not worrisome to me. What are you seeing now with v9.0.7.0?

Just did a fresh Reboot of my computer and waited for it to go to idle, and launched DVDFab, Will edit this post with the end of the log for the time when it fully loads into the GUI.

I changed the color to yellow where it seems to be hanging up at.
