fast method to create the .miniso file for your existing folder

Not sure if this has been brought up yet but, there is a way to quickly create a .miniso file to an already existing folder that doesn't have a .miniso file in it.

(please forgive if this has already been brought up.)

    In any event, to create a .miniso file to a BD movie folder you have copied to your hard drive that did not have one previously, please do the following;

    Launch DVDFab 8.0.8.5

Open (drop down) "Bluray copy" on the upper left side of the main DVDFab window.

    Click on "Write Data"

Click on the folder just to the right of the "Source" field

That will bring up a "Browse for folder" window. Browse to the folder containing the bluray movie. (the one with the BDVM & Certificate folders in it)

Highlight the folder then click "OK" (the "Browse for folder" window will then close.)

You will now be back at the DVDFab main window. Click on the "Create .miniso file in output folder to be mounted by DVDFab virtual drive."

At this point you will notice that the "Target" field under the "Source" field will disappear.

Go down to the lower right side of the main DVDFab window and click "Start."

Within just a few seconds, a window will come up stating that the "Process has been completed successfully."

Click "OK" to close that message window.

Click "Finish" on the lower right of the DVDFab main window.

The folder you chose to write the .miniso file to should now contain a "BDMV" folder and a "Certificate" folder and the newly created .miniso file that is now ready to be mounted with DVDFab's virtual drive 1.2.0.0 and can be played with PowerDVD 9.0.2320.a or Total Media Theater 3.0.1.185. Have have had great success with this method!

Thanks to Mr. Blues & Mr. Hammer, a.k.a., The not so dangerous brothers.

Tutorial screen shots for creating .miniso file

I made a series of (9) screen shots (640x480) complete with super-imposed written directions, arrows, etc. on how one can quickly and easily make a .miniso file for DVDFab's virtual drive. This procedure is for a blu-ray movie you may have ripped to your hard drive without using the virtual drive option. Maybe because you forgot to click the option or you ripped it before the option was available. Whatever the reason, this is a quick and easy way to make a .miniso file so you can mount it with DVDFab virtual drive to play on PowerDVD 9 & 10. If you have a blu-ray movie file that lacks the .miniso and need it to play your movie on PowerDVD, check this out. (This way you can avoid re-ripping the entire movie again just to make a .miniso file.)
It's just a small 491 kb zip. Download and unzip, take a look and tell me if you think it's worthy.

      Mdy4Blues,

Thank you for your generous instructions and help!

Might I make a suggestion, though? In addition to providing a zipped file with screenshots, it might even be more immediately informative to host those screenshots on a site like Photobucket or MediaFire so you can actually display them in your post. This way everyone would immediately be able to glean your helpful instructions by merely viewing this one page instead of needing to download, unzip and view the files in a separate program window on their computer.

        Screen shots 1-4

Thanks for the tip SuperFist. I put them up on MediaFire. If I did this right, they should appear below? DVDfab says; "You are limited to using 4 images" First 4 screens. BTW, Photobucket's free use account only allows five (5) pictures or videos. Useless to me! Of course you only find this out AFTER you sign up!

              Very nice, indeed.

I deleted my previous posts as to not break the continuity of the screenshot instructions.
