You're very welcome, I just hope we can get this resolved for you before you lose "all" your hair...
Hopefully, it will be an easy fix like reinstalling your drivers.

Thanks for the clarification about the LiteOns.

Your last post doesn't include the burn log.
What exactly were you doing with Fab on the last post, using a conversion tool?
What specific software module and what settings for your Target?

What I'm hoping to take a look at are one or two burn logs that you did with Img.
This will display the actual burn process (or at least up until it failed) just like the one you posted earlier (post #7) with VSO.
The Img burn log is generally more useful when troubleshooting.

And here is what I was referring to about the layer break issue (again from post #7):

2011-08-15 14:46:58 Error Init DVD+R Dual Layer: Failed to set layer change to LBA 2076640 (3.96 Gb.) - Code 04 3E 02 [HW error, Timeout on logical unit]

The software is unable to correctly set the layer break. The layer break is where the drive's laser must transition from one layer (00) to another (01).
Both "layers" of a dual layer disc are on the same side.

Sorry if I repeat anything here. You say that your first burner was giving you trouble and thats why you installed a second one. Have you tried just unplugging the first one and then reboot and then check the drive letter in my computer for the new second burner. Then in fab make sure you get the same letter as your target. Then use this new burner to read and write and see how it goes.

Hahaha, we were (are) all just beginners...don't sell yourself short.

Did you get around to uninstalling/reinstalling your drives in device manager yet?
If not, please do so and post back

Img is displaying a basic I/O (Input/Output) error
Something is causing conflicts. Both Fab and Img require exclusive access to your burners.
          From your log:

          Imgburn I/O error
          Device (0:3:0) ATAPIiHBS212 2 5L09 (F (ATA)

I also mentioned physically unplugging your drives and I see HIDEF suggested this as well.
I think this is a good move if the device manager uninstall/reinstall does not work out.

Please do only one thing at a time and keep track of what happens.

Also, if you're game, please open Img independently...just click on the Img icon.
Click on Tools > from the dropdown > Filter Driver Load Order.

Please post the upper/lower filters displayed.

You might also consider attempting to burn the ripped files with Img, again, independently....ie., not with Fab.

Post this burn log and we'll see what Img has to say.

Hang in there...we'll get this fixed.
This problem could be compounded by something as simple as a bad cable or loose connection.
When you open the case to unplug your drives...please check all your cable connections

This may not have anything to do with it but I have the same lite-on drive 212 as you do. I got it this past Dec. My firmware version is 5L06. I noticed yours is 5L09. Did it come this way or did you update (flash) your drive?

                I'm done

Sorry, I havent been on for a while. Took everything in to staples for two days. The did everything they could think of including resetting my computer to factory. I now reloaded dvdfab and imgburn only. I am trying to copy at the presant time. This is my last test before I send the writters back and have them send me a differant model.
                Thanks for everyones help.

                    Hip Hip Hooray

I think I have it solved. When my friend installed the first Lite-on Writer, he was lazy and didn't replace the old cable with the one that came with the new one. He didn't replace it on the second one either.I did it this morning and had success on the first try. I am now testing the second time.
If this one work, I will change the cable on the other Writer.
                    Again, thanks for everyones input.

                        Downloaded a fix.

HIDEF, I did download a fix after I started having problems. Liteon sent it to me. It must have had the 5L09 in it. I am having better luck when I only use my 112 and leave my 212 out of it. Still testing since I redid my computer and changes the cable in the 112. Will change the cable in 212 sometime tonight.

This thread was really old (it was first posted in 2011), I would not suggest to post a problem to such an old thread.

Please start a new one, specify the country of the movie and post dvdfab_internal.log file.
