DVDFab shutting down after scanning Bluray

I just upgraded from 6.0 to 6.0.7.0, I tried 2 new bluray discs (bluray to bluray, main movie mode) to get a MTS file but within seconds DVDfab closes. The discs are Monsters vs Aliens and X-Men Origins. Is DVDfab closing due to BD+ protection or is it another issue? In the past Fab would give me a window indicating that the disc was BD+ and could not be opened.

                hi moviewatcher and welcome,
First I have a couple of questions before I can help much,
                1) is the firmware current on your BD rewriter
                2) is your video card up to date
                3) have you in the past been able to back up BD, if so, then is this an isolated incident with version 6.1.1.0
                4)what is your OS

                  Tried 6.0.6.0, 6.0.7.0. 6.1.1.0 Beta & 6.1.1.5 Beta

All close after trying to scan the drive.

Hi, For whatever reason, LG have no update to the firmware on this drive. I have tried their website and their customer service. I was having problems watching blu ray movies with this drive as well. powerdvd that came with it did not play them, however cyberlink emailed me a link to get an update patch that seems to have solved that problem at least.
But I am still unable to get dvdfab to open the disc. All other drivers are up to date.
My operating system is windows xp media center edition 32 bit and I have the Nvidia gtx 260 that can play blu ray discs.

According to LG you have the current firmware 1.03,
this disc that wouldn't open, is it the first to give a problem, or is this the case with all disc's you try to open with DVDfab.

I have just downloaded dvdfab 6.1.1.5 beta and that seems to have solved the problem, but dvdfab needs to connect to the internet to open the blu ray disc for some reason. Also, if I want to rip the full blu ray disc, I can only rip it to BD 50. I only get the BD 25 if I want to rip just the main movie.

                            Monsters vs Aliens North American

                            Hi,
I was also getting shut down during scanning of this blu-ray. Good news is beta 6118 doesn't do that. Bad news is still won't process. When the disc comes up I choose main movie. It shows it picks Title 1000, playtime 3:00, Chapter 1, aspect ratio 16:9, but over in the audio side nothing shows up. When I click next, there is a blank screen, shows the volume label so I hit start. Shows source as (00153.m2ts), no compression needed scans for about 10 seconds then errors out. Here are the logs

So I did this twice with the same result. The third and fourth time, it actually processed the movie, but only took 2 minutes and the result was a 15mb file.

Other good news is that this version worked perfectly for me for Transformers 2, beautifully compressed the movie and looks fantastic.

                            Keep up the good work
                            Phil

See if there is a different title that matches the play time on the box. I had to do this with The Dark Knight. Main movie always picks the wrong one.
