    Need Help - Optical Drives Will Not Recognize BD 50 Discs As Writable Media

    I am trying to back up some 3d Blu-ray movies. I copied the movies to my hard drive saving them as ISO files. I loaded the ISO file into DVD Fab and selected BD50 as output.

    Now none of my (3) optical drives will recognize these discs as writeable media. I have tried discs from 3 different spindles – DVD Fab will not recognize any of them as writeable media.

    I am using Optical Quantum BD-R DL 50 GB Discs. I have used these discs many times in the past with great success. The last time I used these discs to back up a 3d movie was with release 10.2.1.4 / 64.

    Has something changed in the later releases of DVD Fab that is preventing me from using these discs?

    Not to my knowledge. Please attach the DVDFab internal log and DVDFab burn log.

      Sorry for the late reply. I did not see where anyone has answered me. Not really that computer savy but I'll try and upload the files you requested.........

      (12/12/2021) Tried to upload the files but am getting messages that the files are too large - can't even send a screen shot of the log directory. Not sure what to do next - still have the problem - can't burn any blu rays, but I can read previously burned blurays.

          After a time, these drives simply do not read Blu-rays properly, even if cleaned periodically using one of those brush discs. Two of my outboard players will no longer read all the way through a BD-50, although they used to, and will still play through most BD-25's. I just think the alignment eventually gets a time bit out of whack, or the lens just can't get that laser through the layer changes (which is the point where two of my machines just freeze up anymore). As for the ISO files, I never use them to make copies...only physical discs.
