Again great post. Moderators, how about making a sticky on this one?
Geat help, thanks. Stu
I don't know about 260 card, I have 295 and it's 2-chip card. I do not have time to investigate, pls check on nvidia.com configuration of you card. And if it's single-chip card, there's nothing to worry about.
You also can download GPU monitor from here and see how many processors GPU monitor will see: http://www.4shared.com/file/hdKgT52w/GPUMonitor.htmlsigpic

It looks like my settings are the same as yours, including Nvidia settings. What I'm trying to do is compress the movie only using either blu-ray copy or blu-ray ripper. In both cases I get the same result when I have it setup like yours running either Fab 7.0.9.3. or 8.0.0.5.
Essentially, a few seconds it shuts down and I get a message that the video card has now been resotred or something like that. If I disable Cuda encoding I have no problems.
Are you successfully compressing your files with your settings? If so please give me an example of what you're compressing so I can give it a shot.
Thanks again.

please take a look at Post #15 in this Thread. Please go to Common Settings to same A/V Codec settings page (same as in post #15) and post here everything you see there. Thx.sigpic

EVT,
I'm stuck at work right now and essentially will be all weekend, but yes, I'm able to compress BD discs without issue, never changing settings.
Initially, I rip the BD disc (usually main title only with English audio stream and subtitles), uncompressed to a hdd.
If you're not doing this, please do not compress on the initial rip.
Often, I'll just view these files via my media player, but fairly often I'll compress to BD9 and less frequently to BD25.
Never have an issue compressing.
I also have done some BD conversions to mkv.
The only issues here for me are unrelated to GPU acceleration. The biggest one is the ever-present subtitle problem...which I need thanks to my 61 y.o. ears and way too much Jimi Hendrix in my college days...although it never seemed to be enough back then... am
I am able to do it with MKV Merge... thanks to Ipopov's always sage advice, but I digress....

I think the only major deviation is that I've been compressing straight from the disc rather than copying to the PC first. I'll give that method a try and let you know if it works. Thanks for te tip.

I didn't post a picture of my settings as I can't seem to paste the picture into this post. Anyway, I can assure you that each of my A/V Codec settings are the same as maineman's identified in post #15.
In any event, I see maineman has used a slightly different method to compress his movies so I'll give it a shot and see what happens.

BTW, just a piece of advice fo future - no offense - if you are asking somebody to help you, and that person asking for something, there must be a reason for it. Between my precious weekend time and number of people who seek for help (mostly on weekends), I do not have much of a time to explain every detail why I asked for this or that, but provide assistance to you and others as fast as I can... Again, nothing personal, just an attempt to streamline the effort...sigpic

If I disable Cuda encoding and stick with software it works fine, of course then I lose speed which is very important as I'm looking to rip over 400 blu-ray's and my collection is building.
