      Overall, my best settings are:

As Ipopov stated, you may have to tweak here and there, but
      I'm generally ok with these.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 Driver 258.96
      So this works for you?

I don't see anything different in my settings, I know I have the same driver but I'm not sure if my CUDA version is the same. I'll have to check that later tonight when I get home. By settings I assumed you were referring to settings in your Nvidia control panel.

in nVIDIA control panel disable PhysX and set card for single GPU.
in A/V Codec settings use either same as maineman's or with encoder set for "software". However, if you use BD Ripper, turn encoder on (Soft+CUDA) and disable h264 decoder (set it either for "software" or CoreAVC if you have it) I also tried setting decoder for DXVA and it works. I didn't make any difference in speed though. So, I left it in "Software" because it seems slower but cleaner.

I'm not sure I see the option for single GPU, do you recall where that is?

When you open NVIDIA Control Panel, in a column on your left you will find menu. Look under header 3D settings ->Set multi-GPU and PhysX configuration. Open it and under "Set the following:" tick "Disable multi-GPU mode" and set "PhysX settings" to CPU

I haven't tweaked the nVidia settings at all.
This card worked great right out the box so the settings ars still factory default.
Keep in mind that Fab 8.xxx is very new and the Beijing team has some serious work ahead of it.

                  @Ipopov,
                  I don't see "Set multi-GPU" or "Disable multi-GPU mode".
I don't think these settings are an option with the GTX260.
I sure could be wrong though

I don't see an option either in the control panel for multi-gpu though I do see under its own separate area an option to disable PhysX which I had tried as well. Ipopov perhaps it's under a slightly different name?

BTW, maineman if this setup works for you why are you even considering messing with it. I checked and I seem to have the same settings as you. Perhaps there is something in the Nvidia control panel that was automatically setup differently on your end relative to mine. Also, what version of DVDFab are you using?

I'm not going to actually change any settings, just curious and hoping to help resolve your issue.
As I said the GPU acceleration is still a work in progress and the team has its work cut out for it.

Exactly what problems are you experiencing? I'll see if they are reproducible on my rig or not...maybe we can isolate the cause.

Right now I have 8005, 7093 and 7508 installed (also 6218 and 4120, but these are unrelated).
For the past 2 days, I've been using 8005 primarily

You guys should compare nvidia driver versions also. The new one has been a little flaky for me. Windows has had to re-strart it a couple of times when doing other things unrelated to DVDFab. I have the 256.98 driver.

                          Do you mean 258.96??? Right?
I seems don't have issues with it... It strange, I thought all 200-series cards (I have GTX295) have same control panel - apparently not. But 250 is 2-chip card, isn't?

My I jump in here, please.
This is a great post/topic. I have changed my setting based on Maineman's post, from Coreavc to his settings, and it has geatly speeded up the process, and MORE IMPORTANTLY less "random glitches, jiggles and stutters" in the finished product.
My only question is I can't find any way to set my GTX 260 to a single GPU....There is nothing in my control panel to do this, So to maybe answer Ipov's is the 200 series only 1 GPU?
Again great post. Moderators, how about making a sticky on this one?
                            Geat help, thanks. Stu

Nah, the 260 is single chip.
I think even the 285 is single and it's not until the 295 that they make the transition to 2-chip.
