    Hi AGJ:
I tried the BD-2012 with 4500MB custom size set, the ourput file is OK, and the size is 4.44G. Testing is on going.

    Thanks,
    Potti

4.44G is too large for a DVD5, should be about 4.36G max (4464MB). The DVD-9 output size is also slightly too large. The image quality however is excellent, looks better than most pressed DVDs.

Any chance this is someone not accounting for MB = 1024K instead of MB = 1000K type problem?

AGJ, perhaps you should lower the custom size, possibly 4464MB. 4472MB is too close to the DVD5 mark and may result in overflow as you presented in your logs. Remember, you cannot expect the output to have the exact same size, or at least very close to it, only an approximation.

Selecting PCM or DTS as part of the output leaves little room for bitrate allocation to the video, especially if the output is DVD5 and if expecting good video quality is your goal. It's better to choose AC3 instead.

Too close I've been using that custom size for about 5 years without issues till now. Also I do not want to change my custom size everytime I go and use the Blu-ray to DVD converter and the burn logs was only created to post in this thread

Actually isn't the AC3 on Blu-ray either the commentary or stereo? Besides DVDFab Blu-ray Converter converts PCM/DTS Audio to AC3 already. This is only some testing I did for DVD5 setting as I plan to only use DVD9 setting when I convert Blu-ray to DVD except for the kids movies

Noted. But can you try 4464MB to see if it will fit this time.

Not necessarily. Depends what the disc contains.

Already did that as I mentioned it in post#12

Just did a Blu-ray to DVD conversion using same Blu-ray "Alpha and Omega" and used the Default DVD5 setting of 4300mb. Came out at a size of 4.22gb but I do not want to have to change the custom size of 4472mb to the 4300mb size everytime I convert Blu-ray to DVD as I would have to change it back again.

Below is the internal log file of the default 4300mb size that worked
