Can subtitles be selected when using DVD Fab, so the subtitles show when playing the DVd movie copied disc on a DVD player and also my computer and if so, how please?

They can be changed in main move mode and possibly "custom" but not in full disc or clone.

In main movie mode, after you select the Title to rip you will see a "subtitle" box on the lower right. The boxes with check marks are the ones selected to include in the rip. Most of the time the subtitles are set to off by default. If you want to turn one of the subtitles on by default you can double click one of the subtitles and you should get a arrow to the left of the subtitle check box. This signifies the default subtitle. It is the same with the audio track in the upper right.

Correction: You don't double click the desired subtitle. You click the empty space in front of the check box.

This technique works for any of the DVDFab DVD "re-author" modes, which are Main Movie, Customize and Merge. You can still turn the subs off with your player controls if you decide you don't want to see them for some reason.

Thank You SweetOne69. I assume that`s what you mean in my attachment? Now, by making selections there, (just tick the one`s i want), will the subtitles appear when i play my copied disc on my computer and also on the TV through the dvd player?
Also, how do i turn the subs off when playing on computer and on TV, i guess in the setup is that right??

Not quite, by checking the boxes that you want, they will be included in the copy but not on by default. If you look up at the audio languages, you see the blue triangle/arrow next to English AC/5.1? You need to have that same blue arrow next to one of the subpictures to have it be on by default when you play the movie. To Turn on the blue arrow, click in the empty space to the left of the check box for the desired subtitle that you want on by default.

To turn off the subtitle while playing will depend on the player being used, but yes there will be a setting to disable/change the subtitle.

Thanks. So each time i process a disc i would do as you said above if needed? Also by doing that the subtitles will be there when i play on computer and TV/DVD player and somehow turn them off if i don`t want them?

I think i selected subpicture in DVD Shrink. Is there something i haven`t done?

Hello again, i did what you said and got that blue arrow up on the selection "English" and processed through DVD Fab then went through DVD Shrink then burned through IMG Burn and played the DVD on my computer with Windows Media Player but subtitles didn`t show. I think i selected subpicture in DVD Shrink. Is there something i haven`t done?

Well, i worked it out. I played the DVD on VLC Media Player and the subtitles worked great, so it appears Windows Media Player is not the one to do it unless you know something else. Thank You.

All subs in the stream will play whether they are forced subs or not if you make them "default" by processing them the way that you have. It is normal. The "forced" subs will play (on most players) without turning on the default arrow in DVDFab. Why are you re-processing the disc with DVDShrink?

I`ve always used DVD Shrink on advice and it presents no problem. The movie i have been trying to sort out is XMen-first class.

The Subtitles that you desire are either the forced or embedded variety so you don't need to do anything to get them display. They will be automatically ripped with the movie whether you select any other subtitles or not.

I don't use DVDShrink as I see it as an unnecessary step in the process. I have DVDFab setup to use IMGBurn as my burn engine instead of VSO.

Other than TV Series, I rip Main Movie Only. So I open DVDFab, select Main Movie, insert Disc and wait for it to analyze. After it analyzes I verify that the correct track is selected and select my desire audio and subtitle tracks. Then I select the desired target location where I want to save the ISO file and click Start.

There are some PC Media Players that don't process forced subtitles correctly (i.e. VLC). so even though the forced subtitles are present they may not display when playing the movie from your PC.
