I don't use DVDShrink as I see it as an unnecessary step in the process. I have DVDFab setup to use IMGBurn as my burn engine instead of VSO.

Other than TV Series, I rip Main Movie Only. So I open DVDFab, select Main Movie, insert Disc and wait for it to analyze. After it analyzes I verify that the correct track is selected and select my desire audio and subtitle tracks. Then I select the desired target location where I want to save the ISO file and click Start.

There are some PC Media Players that don't process forced subtitles correctly (i.e. VLC). so even though the forced subtitles are present they may not display when playing the movie from your PC.
Thank You for your comprehensive reply. In your second paragraph you mention "I have DVDFab setup to use IMGBurn as my burn engine instead of VSO." Could you guide me on how to set that up please?

Thank You for your help. So, looking at the setup links, do i have to set up IMG burn to fit in with DVD Fab?
Also, the video in the first is no longer available, but that`s probably not required. Attached.

Hello Mona, does changing the "common settings" from vso to IMG Burn activate Dvd Fab to automatically burn with IMG Burn? Also, does it create an ISO file?

I have been using Dvd Fab>Dvd Shrink>ImgBurn, but now i`m told Dvd Shrink is not necessary. When it went through Dvd Shrink it would save an ISO File in System C. Now, i`m trying to setup Dvd Fab to go straight to Img Burn. When i do Dvd Fab what do i use as target and does it save as an ISO File?? I have tried it but i get a message saying i`m in the wrong mode and to change from write to build. It shows an IFO File. Terry

                Hi julesco
If you want to make an ISO and have ImgBurn configured to be your burn engine, you would click on the little icon that looks like a piece paper folded on the top right of screen with the blue disc on it.

Thank You, i found that. Now, the process goes from Dvd Fab then to IMGBurn and creates the ISO File in C etc., and then i opened IMG Burn and i chose "all files" (see attached), then i start the burning process. Is that right? Is IMG Burn supposed to open automaticall for the burn?

                    Hi julesco
                    Yes that is correct.
You can use ImgBurn alone or use the Write Data option in Fab to burn to disc.
The only thing you have to consider is will you be using a SL or DL disc according to the ISO file size.
                    Hope this helped

Thanks. Now, in the writing image page i see a box "close program".( see attached) If i untick that box, up comes a page at the end (see attached) and in a dropdown "build" is ticked. What is this for and the mode for burning is usually "write" isn`t it??

There are excellent tutorials for using ImgBurn and setting it up for use with DVDFab, please read them.

ImgBurn must be in Build mode to make the image file (ISO) if that is what you want as output. You can also use Build mode and choose your optical drive as the Target and ImgBurn will build the image and write it to disc in one step.

This thread no longer has anything to do with subtitles or v8.1.2.5 and will be closed. If you still have problems or questions, please start a new thread.
