Okay just copied this dvd doing the following. Grunon was right to open up the dvd using a media player .any type will do.

    Try this:

    1. Update dvd fab first if you have not. Latest ver.
    2. play dvd in with a media type software. I used power dvd 8 or vlc doesn't matter.
    3. Play the dvd as if you were watching it on your dvd player.
    4. Now open dvd with dvdfab.
    5. yes you will get the read error. Hit ignore and let it go.
    6. (using Main Movie) Fab opens up showing the the correct title.

Just finished coping it to a dvd 5.
    Good Luck guys.
    regards Rip.

I did try that last night and had NO LUCK even doing all of the above. What I did just try was when the first error reading comes up, this time I click ABORT and YES it did OPEN using MOVIE only. It froze up FAB a few times, but then it took it.

While ripping like I said before I did get another READ ERROR at 76.45%, from here I clicked IGNORE ALL and waited it out. It took an EXTRA LONG TIME, but it did RIP.

At this time I have sent it to RECODE into Nero and trying to burn a back up now. Will REPORT BACK after burnt and played all the way through the BACK UP copy to make sure it turned out OK or not.

THANKS to ALL that put in there input!
Will get back in about 2 hours time, which should cover the recoding as well as having to watch it all the way through.

          Smurfs

          Worked for me. Version 8.1.3.6.

1st put disc in drive and close. Let autorun come up and close.

Bring up DVDFab. Click on DVD Copy or DVD HD Copy

Click on Main Movie. Go to the box in the lower right
and uncheck the Spanish and French boxes.

          Copied just fine.

With all these read errors, has anyone tried resetting DMA and trying again.

Open Fab Click the Green top right > General > make sure Check for DMA Automatically is Checked and also Click the Reset DMA to the right click OK and restart Fab, you also may have to restart your computer.

              Hi Guys,

Sorry to jump in like this but unable to open "The Smurfs". Told had an error reading; I told to "ignore all" but will not open for copy purposes. Just downloaded the newest version of the program. Oh, by the way this is not blue ray only dvd. Any hopes that soon problem will be corrected??

Thanks in advance for any replies....

There may be different versions of this disc or possibly some bad pressings. It is working correctly for many users. I don't have the disc yet.

OK everyone. For those of you that still have NO LUCK, I have been able to do it on more then one computer using both Version. 8.1.3.5 *&* 8.1.3.6

The ONLY way I was able to get it to open though is like I said before, when you get a READ ERROR, (DO NOT CLICK ignore) CLICK abort. Once I did this it OPENED *&* went to the correct title.

It did RIP it all as MOVIE ONLY. (Make sure you have that also set.) Then I used Nero to RECODE it and have made a GOOD COPY.

NOTE: When I used the Version 8.1.3.6 it did rip faster then the other one, but again both I had to click the abort first to OPEN it ready to RIP.

Hope this helps anyone out there still having troubles.
As NORMAL DVD FAB is the GREATEST and BEST ripping software out here.

I used version 8.1.3.6 and was only able to do main movie. At first read I had to abort just once then after that no errors. DVD plays fine.

I didn't chose main movie, I had Custom and there will be 3 movie on the list, take them all. That's what I did and it worked.

You might also try exchanging the disc, the logs look like the discs may be defective.

@alliyance I didn't select all 3. I just used the one they selected for me. Still worked.

Good Morning. I clicked on RETRY a couple of times but Read Error still showed, However when I clicked on ABORT it continued to Read the Smirfs disc for a few seconds & then LOADED. DFDFAB 8.1.6.3 then worked fine & I got my backup for the kids to enjoy. Ma
