Enders Game and The Fifth Estate

Hi,

I have the same problem with these dvd,s. Failed to open - check if it's playable. I am in region 2. I have tried both 8.2.2.9 and 9.1.3.3 with path player enabled with the above result. Also tried with path player dis-abled, it then states 100% compression and a final size 1578MB which is way too small.

Hi Mickey,

I think the film makers are up to some new tricks with their protection encoding and are trying it out on region 2 first. I also think it maybe a while before DVDFAB team get a grip of it.

it would seem by the lack of response that you could be right, I see that more members are having the same sort of trouble perhaps one of the techs at blufab will take notice and give some sort of response to the postings on this matter as it is not only one dvd with this problem,
any way we can only hope.

i did notice some what looked like extra tracks in the enders game DVD when looking at the physical dvd itself. There were 2 rings i have not sen the like of before embedded into the medias reflective laser layer?

Same error with version 9.1.3.6.

I was able to rip to hard disk using v9.1.0.5 and it played on the computer. However the resulting DVD structure was illegal and mkisofs would fail creating an iso and wouldn't burn to disk without re authoring.

There are some r2 fixes in the new beta, v9.1.3.7, please try it and report the results.

thanks for your reply with regards to the family r2 this copied ok with the new update 9.1.3.7. the hobbit is due out on the 7th April here so will let you know next Monday if all goes well.
