Subtitle problem

Today, i purchased my copy of Captain Phillips. I tried all options for subtitle i.e. "English Normal" English Normal Captions" (see attachment) both ticked and tried them separately with the little blue arrow selected but to no avail.The only subtitles i can get is by selecting "English Normal Captions", Could you help please?
Correction:-subtitles show for all speaking, English and Somalian, using English Normal and English normal Captions.

Do a search on the movie name here in the forum to see if their is a solution I seem to remember different players handled the subtitles for this movie differently.

It has Cinavia on it so unless you have a old disk player or media player or unaffected software player the disk will mute the sound after 20 mins.

Thanks, in there they talk mainly about ripping, i`m using Dvd Copy and forced captions are not in there.

I did that but the size turned out to be 7.59 Gb, too big for the disc. I`ve used Vidcoder to reduce it to 4000mb and now have to use Dvd Flick to process it onto a disc. Takes a long time. But, another thing is the quality. I`ll keep you posted.

Use a 2 layer 8.5 gig disk they not expensive save all the electric your using to trans code it and shrink it not to mention time.For quality it will be the same as the store brought disk.

The Somali translations are in the top English sub stream and should display in most players if you turn the subtitles OFF using the controls for the player (so that the normal English dialogue subs do not appear). This applies to the Region 1 disc.

Main movie is 4.06 gb. (1)Tried the top "English normal" with little arrow on-played movie with subtrack enabled on computer player and got subtitles for all speaking i.e. English and Somalian. (2) Tried the same with little arrow on-disabled subtrack on computer player got nothing.

What computer player are you using to play back the subtitles? Try a different player VLC is a free player you can download or you can try Fab's media player Free to play iso's from the computer not free if using disks and you can try Fab's preview player built in the fab program.Different players will work differently with problem disks.

I`ve been using VLC all the time and i just tried DVD Fab Media Player and Media Player Classic as well and they all show subtitles for all which includes English and Somalian. I`m looking to see just subtitles for Somalian.
