    General Setup

Sometimes when a new version comes along, the general setup that I am used to is not used. I would like to backup a complete DVD (movie) to a blank DVD. I am getting a message that the dvd is not writable when I put the source dvd in the computer. Can someone help me set up this software program. I am using dvdfab 9.1.9.9. Thanks in advance, WolfpackRon.

What size blank are you using and we'll set it up.

Sorry I am so slow responding, but when I use the DVDFab 9.2.0.0 program, the movie is copied to a file on my computer. How do set the program to automatically copy the movie to a blank disc on the second step?
Also, how can I copy the file to a blank disc after it is saved to a file in my computer?
          Thanks,
          WolfpackRon.

To burn to a blank, select the drive down at the bottom in the "Save To:"
And to select the folder on the drive, click the "+" in the middle of the screen or click on add and browse to its location on the HDD. See attached:

I was able to use the "save to" link to be able to copy a DVD to another blank DVD. Thanks.

In the past, I was able to "Rip" a DVD to my computer, then copy the movie to a thumb drive and play it on my Roku 3. I did this for two different movies. Now when I try, it I get a message, "no compatible file found, or something of that type message on the Roku 3. I cannot figure out what I have done differently. Any suggestions?

You probably used "Ripper" to make an MP4 file to play on the Roku 3. Other file formats will very likely play on it too like MKV.

I used ripper, but only two movies work on Roku 3. Still cannot figure it out. not sure what I did to make them work. Still messing with it. No luck yet. Ripped it to a mp4 file.

Set up the MP4 like this and it should work.

Download and install MediaInfo (free) if you do not have it already. Let it scan one of the ones that plays on the Roku and one of the ones that does not and attach the reports (text files) to a post.

I had it set up like you recommended and Roku 3 says not compatible. There is some small problem with a setting somewhere. When I copied the two movies that worked onto the thumb drive, it took about four minutes each to transfer them. On the movies that do not work, it takes just a short time to transfer the movie to the thumb drive. Not sure why.

Still need a log or at least the title and region of the movies that do not work. Log is better.

I checked the Roku 3 specs and what I showed you should play. We need to see that log.

                              Hungergames works.
Boyhood and Cousin Vinny do not work.

Again, am I doing something wrong collecting this data.
When I copied these movie files to the thumb drive, the file that worked took approx. four minutes to copy and the files that did not work transferred very quickly, a matter of seconds.
