Try it with ImgBurn in Test mode, see if the same error pops up. You may need to update or disable the SPTD.sys driver. Enable OPC if your drive will allow it. Do you have any other DL media you could try? Like Verbatim?

I don't have any other media (just HP but that's single layer and the problem seems to be on the second layer) ... I tried it with test mode and got pretty much the same error, I can post that one too if you want ... how do I update that?Comment

Well, it sort of smells like the media to me, but drives can cause similar errors. Do SL blanks burn OK? Hi, I reinstalled DVDFab and the vso engine is back (don't know why it disappeared for awhile) ... anyways, the dual layer burning still does not work, while the single layer discs work perfectly ... I'm pretty sure it is not the media, because as I said before I purchased a 50-pack of Amazon Basic dual layer discs, and the first 30 I burned worked perfectly ... all of a sudden they just stopped working, so it seems like that wouldn't be the media but something else.Comment
