    New version has EXPIRED already!?

Hello, this is my first time on the forums as I've never really had a problem until now. A couple weeks ago I was using the 7.0 version of DVDFab and it tells me there is an update, so I update to 8.0 and a couple days later it says my trial has expired

I cannot click on any of the options on the left column.

I tried to uninstall and download the "FREE tools" "DVDFab HD Decrypter" directly from the website. And it still gives me the expired error.

Luckily I still have v7 installed but v8 isn't working for me. Any ideas on how to fix my problem.

    Thanks in advance.

The trial lasts only for 30 days. The free hd decrypter only allows you to use dvd copy>full disc and bluray copy>full disc. You may upgrade it to v8 but the trial mode doesn't reset.

Sorry the screen shot is of the DVD ripper module. Here's one of the DVD copy module not working for me.

Like I said before I have absolutely no functionality on v8. Everything I click on that's on the left side pops up this "expired" message.

I don't know what's the problem then but in any case if you want to use every option(ex.Clone) you must buy it.

I only need the DVD copy option. It should be part of the free tools version. I know that you have to pay for the other features, but I shouldn't have to pay for the FREE stuff should I?

You should be able to use the free version, but one or two others have reported this problem with v8.x. Use the DVDFab uninstaller (Start->All Programs->DVDFab 8->Uninstall DVDFab 8) and then reboot your PC. Then reinstall, making sure to Run As...Administrator when you start the installer. If the welcome screen still has a button to start/launch/run HD Decrypter, click that. Not all of the functions in DVDFab Copy are available free.

Try just clicking ok and continue, but be certain that you have selected Full Disc only.
                  What happens after clicking ok?

When did you D/L and install Fab?
Please post the About screen which displays the modules and their current status like so:

                    this is what I did:

                    1) uninstalled
                    2) restarted
                    3) ran installer "as administrator"

when the program launched I didn't get the welcome screen, I had to click the blue ? in the corner

I did notice that now I can click on all of the modules on the left EXCEPT "DVD Copy" at the top.

From the "about/welcome" screen it says that "DVD Copy" has expired. Is that normal? I thought that was part of the free tools.

this is what I get when I click on "Full Disk" button

Ok I closed the program and launched it again, and I DON'T have any functionality. In my last post I said that everything works except DVD Copy. But now I get that same message that the "XX option has expired" for all the modules on the left.

It should not do this, I'm not sure what the problem is. Will try to get one of the devs to look at this thread. You should be able to access Full Disc (and I think Main Movie) after you click OK.

Thanks for all your help so far. Hopefully we can find a solution that works. For Now I'll still be using v7

                            Yup.
I just tried v.8011 Beta on an older XP Pro rig used to test the freeware version (never activated the product) and you're exactly right pard.

What's interesting about brendon7800's screenshot (post #10, 2nd screenshot) is that it appears to be in the DVD Copy module...note the left field.
However, if you look down near the bottom of the screenshot, you'll see
Profile (which should not be present in the DVD Copy module)...

and also note the icon (film strip) contained within the Start button representative of the
                            Video Convertor profile.

Perhaps his application is starting in the wrong module, although it does seem more than a bit screwy.

Not sure if you changed the UI to start with a certain module but next time when you start DVDFab go to common settings the green dot with Check mark and then select Customize UI. Try putting check mark in the "Show registered Options only". In "Options Group" make sure it shows DVD Copy and then in the "Options to Display" Select "Full Disc" so that when DVDFab is opened it goes straight to those selections. If that does not work you can select Default to go back to default settings
