UPDATE: as discussed in my above post, I have reverted to a previous version - 8.0.8.5 - and DVD Ripper is now working fine.

8.1.5.4 still won't do Midway but 8.0.5.0 will. Isn't that at least a clue? How to post the internal log

Same thing with Beta 8.1.5.4
I am running into the same problem as all above. Not real happy. Trying to convert to .mp4 format. Tried latest beta and same thing. Unfortunately I did not save the previous versions. Is there a way to get a copy of 8.0.8.5 so I can continue working? Help anyone?

You're welcome, by the way 8.0.8.5 is the version you want I've been wrong about the version I use. 8.0.8.5 was the last version before the QT versions were released. How to post the internal log

Attention all who are having this problem with DVD Ripper:
This is a problem that has come and gone over the past year+, and it is likely it will never be fixed permanently. It is a problem with the timestamps in the original DVD (an authoring problem). For a time, there was a workaround for it in a few of the Qt versions, but the only version available now that will work for movies with this problem (many older 4:3 DVDs for some reason, e.g. Sahara (Bogart); We're No Angels (Bogart) and many others) is v8.0.8.5. The problem is that the workaround for the timestamp problem causes other problems for normal movies in DVDFab. Perhaps as time permits a better workaround for this poor authoring can be found. I have asked if there was some tool that could fix this and the answer was no.Supplying DVDFab Logs in the Forum ...........................User Manual PDF for DVDFab v11................................ Sure, install 8.0.8.5 in a different directory. When the box comes up in the installer just change the name to something like "DVDfab 8085" or whatever you like. I have them both and both work fine. You might also want to uncheck all the "create desktop icon boxes and such. Then you can browse to where you installed and right click on the application, create a shortcut then drag and drop it on your desktop. Otherwise the launch icon will be overwritten by the last version installed. Rename the icon before dragging to the desktop also.Last edited by 90312; 01-27-2012, 07:12 PM.How to post the internal log
