DVD Ripper Freezes

I am using DVD Fab 8.2.0.0. I am trying to convert a DVD to iPad (original) format. The conversion freezes at 14.91%. I tried rebooting and starting the process again, which did not help.

[The DVD is brand new and does not have any dirt or scratches.]

I would appreciate any assistance. If you need me to attach any logs to this post, please advise where to access that information.

Try ripping the disk to your hard disk first and then process from there.

Ripping to Hard Drive

Thanks. The only problem is that I was trying to rip the DVD to a folder on my Windows XP desktop. From there I was going to move the file into iTunes. Unfortunately, the issue described occurred when I did what you suggested.

That indicates one of two problems:-

1. Faulty/dirty/badly pressed disk. Inspect, clean and polish.
2. A new title with new copy protection schema. need mor detal, logs etc to even consider looking at this.

How to get logs

The disk is brand new, but my guess is that it was manufactured a few years ago. The disk is very clean with no dirt or scratches.

The logs indicate you are using DVD Ripper, try using DVD Copy to write it to a folder on your hard drive. The disc is not opening correctly and may not be readable. Does it play normally in your PC drive?

Same problem when ripped from hard drive

I tried your suggestion. I did a full disk copy to my hard drive without any problems. I tested the files to make sure that they worked. I then ripped from the hard disk to do an iPad file in a folder on my desktop. The process froze again at 14.92%.

I have attached the latest log files.

Any help would be much appreciated.

No, I can tell you it's not a new encryption format or dirty DVD. This has been an ongoing issue for the last 6-8 months. I have a ton of ISO DVD's which I can't rip. It stops at different spots every time. This is an issue within DVDFAB. I've been just ignoring it lately since I have been doing a lot of Blue-Rays, but now I am trying to go back and take over of some other regular DVD's. When I mounth the ISO, everything works without any issue.

Mounting an ISO

Sorry for the delay in responding. At first, I did not understand the e-mail because I had never heard of mounting an ISO. I did some web searches and at least now I know what is an ISO. I downloaded Daemon Tools (lite) but have no idea how to mount an ISO from the files that I copied to my hard drive. Are you able to provide a bit more guidance?

I suggest you to use DVDFab virtual dirve, which is wonderful and free.

I am currently having this problem with several different DVDs. THe first log is a double pass. THe first pass went through, and the program stopped encoding on the second. The second log is a single pass. It hung during the first pass. There is nothing wrong with the DVD. The work was cancled because the program hung, and was not encoding.

I changed the profile from Apple TV to MP4, and got a complete rip. I'll try one of the disks that failed before, and let you know if it works.
