DVD Ripper DVD to Mobile Troubleshooting

I'm using DVDFab to burn my dvd movies (the physical discs that I own) onto my Ipod for a long car trip. I have put several on my Ipod without any problems. The trouble is, I'm now trying to put a season of a TV show on my Ipod as well, and for some reason the encoding fps stays at like .02 and it doesn't seem to be working. I can put in a movie and not have a problem, but for some reason the TV show doesn't work. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    Edit: using DVDFab v7

the source is listed as MPEG2 and I'm attempting to convert it to MP4

If you are selecting the "Play All" title from the list, try selecting the individual episode titles instead. You can tell them apart by the play time. Might also help to rip the DVD to your hard drive using Customize mode, then make the MP4 conversion with the VIDEO_TS hard drive folder selected as the Source. Copy only the episode titles and check the box on the second page that says "remove menus".

ive tried doing individual episodes...doesn't work. I put the DVD on my hard drive and it seemed to split up each episode into two files. Whenever I try to open both or one of them DVDFab crashes.

Don't use File to mobile opening the individual VOB files, use DVD to Mobile and open the VIDEO_TS folder as the Source.

ah i see sorry i misunderstood you. It still moves equally as slow though and eventually hits 0 encoding fps whether I try all episodes or just one...Could it have something to do with a copyright protection? I can throw in any movie and it works just fine it seems to only be this TV Show.

Also when you're setting up the converter there is that box in the lower right that has the headings of "subpicture" "language" and "extension"...that is empty when I'm trying to do the TV show but it has options when a movie is in. Not sure if that is significant.

I will bet that this is interleaved content causing the problem.

Please download, install & use MediaInfo to inspect the VOB's on your HDD and post the info so that er can have a look.

                    Scan type : Interlaced

This is definitely interlaced content which Fab seems to be having a lot of problems with at the moment.

The only other things that you can try other than awaiting a fix, is to check the "Deinterlace" option in the edit window, or install and try version 6.2.1.8 which was more stable in this area.

You can have two versions of Fab installed.

Ok thanks. I will try both of those things. Not that I'm going to quit using DVDFab, but do any similar programs exist that can handle interlaced content and get it on my Ipod?

This is not the correct place to ask such a question.

Google is everyone's "friend" and an obvious solution. I only thought that a moderator would be knowledgeable enough in this area and could save me time from sifting through countless useless resources. I apologize for asking an irrelevant question. Thank you for all of your help.

That makes more sense. Again thanks for the help on the encoding I would never have figured that out.
