8.2.0.8 works, except for a cinevaria hang. DVD worked fine. One weird thing, dvdfab is now ignoring my internal drive (even for DVD) and is exclusively only reading my bluray drive.

Edit, oops, I think I still have 8.2.0.7, not .8

Tried .8 version. After a reboot, it went back to DVD only recognized via internal drive, Bluray recognized only Bluray, not DVD.

I wonder if dvdfab could program in a way to force access to a drive, or a way to lock out certain drives so others will be forced to work.

I downloaded 8.2.0.8 and it still does not load the Blu Ray. The loading screen thinks it is the energizer bunny and just keeps going and going and going! never stops. I let it go for two hours and it never loaded. I bought this LG BE12LU38 to go with my 2009 MacBook Pro 17" in hopes that it would work with DVD Fab. So far it is a waste of money. Is anyone with a similar set up getting it to work?

EDIT: This Blu Ray burner can transfer via USB or via eSATA III (6mbp speed). I have been trying to use the eSATA cable and the Blu Ray mounts, but DVD Fab does not load it. Using the USB appears to work fine. Not sure why it wont load using the eSATA. Would like to be able to use it because transfer speed would be much faster. Any suggestions?

              System crashes

The DVDFab bluray copy 8.2.0.8 update has triggered problems on Mountain Lion 10.8.1 trying backups of CInavia protected blurays. Firstly my MacPro internal Pioneer 206 drive is listed as having ability to write a Cinavia protected disk (checked settings in DVDFab and has the right specs) but in the program, there is no box to check for protected disk writing (is this considered grayed out?). When I try non Cinavia blurays, DVDFab completes backup but then locks up. Relaunch Finder does not fix (the HD drives do not appear on the desktop and BD burner is not sensed) and I have to reboot the Mac. I have tried to re-install DVDFab, systems permission repair and Disk Warrior repair (no problems identified that I can see) and this does not help.So this update is buggy I think.

Between this latest DVDFab update and the whole Cinavia mess, I like others it seems, am tired of the whole bluray business and trying to back them up. Perhaps that was the intention. I am not sure if the Western Digital Live Hub is infected with CInavia, but I will try that route as an alternate.

I will also think again when I agree to any firmware updates without checking. I had just updated my Sony BDP-480S to latest firmware which adds the Cinavia - I am a sucker for update buttons. What a tool I am for doing that blindly. As an aside, going to big box electronics stores like Best Buy or Futureshop here in Canada - they have NO idea what Cinavia is. So no luck in getting advice on Cinavia free BD players in stores. Back to web searches ...

                8.2.0.9b still broken.
It sure would be nice if the developer would at least acknowledge the problem (or not) and give a clue that itʻs being addressed. Iʻm getting tired of downloading all these updates over the last month+ only to discover they donʻt address this issue at all. See my first post in this thread. Nothing has changed.

Same here - really keen on trying this and have downloaded the beta for the 30-day trial but can't get passed the loading stage. Have restarted a few times but same thing. Even left it going for 30-mins to see if it would load but nothing.

Hope that you fix it soon - would like to try the software before the 30-days is up!

8.2.1.0 still has issues for me I hate to say.
I installed it and everything was working great. I ripped 6 blu-rayʻs to test. Shut the computer down for the night. Restart the next day and itʻs not working again. Blu-rays mount in Finder but DVDFab will not even try to read them. Then when I exit DVDFab, it crashes.
I uninstall DVDFab and associated files with CleanApp, reinstall DVDFab and it works again. At least until I restart the computer and then it goes back to itʻs non-functional state.

I sure hope you can fix this.

                    Mahalo!

I had a weird detection issue as well in the last several versions. I put a dvd into my bluray drive, it mounts on the desktop but never scans. DVDFAB crashes on exit. I do nothing except reboot, and then the bluray drive detects the dvd and scans, does not crash on exit.

I wish I could trouble shoot further, but it's hard to figure out what the problem is from a user's perspective.

                        Hi haole,

Could you please post dvdfab_internal.log file?

You can find it in "Settings -> Open Log Folder".

                        Thanks.

                        Best Regards,

Any progress or status updates regarding this problem? Itʻs still broken for me for 2 months now.

Ok, installed 8.2.1.1 and like before, it works great. I ripped 5 blu-rayʻs, closed and reopened the program with no crashing.

But, also just like before, once I reboot or restart the computer, DVDFab will no longer try to read a disc and when I exit the program it crashes.

                              Very predictable.

                              Any hopes of fixing this?

                                Hi haole:
I think maybe a bug block reading disc.
You said fab won't no longer read a disc after it crash, then you have to check whether the fabstreamer is running. If it is, ok, kill fabstreamer and restar fab again.
It is a bug that fab crash and exit but fabstreamer won't. That is my though, please try again.

                                Best Regards,
                                Potti
