11.0.4.8 Not using NVIDIA RTX 2080 GPU

Trying to convert a BluRay disk to MKV, I am getting 10 - 11 fps. This is a new MSI Stealth GS65 Laptop with the latest firmware and driver software. My old Win 7 desktop using Intel 620 is much faster than this. Is there a problem with DVDFab using the RTX 2080s?

I have attached the log files.

Please also do the following if possible:
Open DVDFab Settings->AV Codec and click the Hardware Info button.
Screen capture the info box that pops up and attach it to a post. Follow the tips here for attaching images: https://forum.dvdfab.cn/forum/dvdfab...in-forum-posts The key points are 1) crop the capture to the info box only 2) save it a PNG file type, not a jpg.

    Thanks for the feedback.

Good Screenshot but you need to click the Hardware Info button and screen shot that please. I'm intrigued as I only have the 1660 Ti and considering this card.

First thing I would do is look at updating your NVIDIA drivers, you are using 430.39 which came out in April, the latest drivers are 436.15 which came out 27 Aug. Same with your Intel Graphics drivers. (look to apply get them directly from NVidia/Intel rather than through MSI's very outdated website)

Cuda's worked fine for me in the past using a 2080, definitely a capable card.

Sorry for the delay, I lost access to my DVD burner for a while and couldn't retry anything. I just upgraded to the latest version of DVD Fab 11.0.5.1 I have the latest NVidia Drivers (436.30 - Released 9/10/2019). And I am still experiencing conversions not using CUDA. I tried converting a DVD rather than a BluRay, and was getting 68FPS. But then when I moved over to my old Windows 7 desktop with Intel video driver, I was getting 464FPS on the same DVD!

I can't tell if this is a problem with DVD Fab, the laptop or even the DVD Reader. What was interesting is that on one DVD, I tried converting the movie and after 11 minutes it stopped and said Successful. Is this some strange copy protection? Is it DVD Fab, or is my Reader doing something that prevents it from copying? Hard to isolate where the problem is...oh, and now I just found out that there are limitations on number of activations/deactivations per year. Great!

                  Hi blackhawk
1, please attach the latest dvdfab_internal.log and fabcheck_internal.log file from the PC that gets the slow issue.
2, Via Member Center, the "deauthorize all" option can be used once per year. You can deauthorize from DVDFab installed on your PC whenever you like, or contact customer service for help.

Ok, I have performed several sessions, one using a DVD and one using a BluRay and have attached the logs for each in this message, Both performed much worse than an older machine with an Intel GPU.

You can see from the screenshot that it is recognizing the NVidia GPU, but it is not using it for some reason.

I have the exact same issue and created a forum thread about it. My ripping computer is Windows 7, and I was able to rip in the past much faster than with the latest version of DVDfab. There is something funky happening with the latest version. It's like it's ignoring CUDA.

                        From developer:
you are using a notebook, i7-8750H cpu and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 with Max-Q Design,
you can try to set OS to use High Performance Mode (not powersaving), and set DVDFab.exe FabProcess.exe to use nvidia GPU in setting panel.
from your snapshot it run, it means Nvidia Nvenc is loaded ok.
we do not know how much nvidia cut nvenc core on this kind of chips.

You can go to ‘NVIDIA Control Panel’ > ‘Manage 3D settings’, use the Add option to manage the settings.

I have done this. My nVidia setting is set to full performance for dvdfabx64.exe.

THIS IS NOT THE ISSUE. I am still ripping with CPU and not nVidia(cuda).

This has NOT fixed the issue. I have CUDA selected in the preferences, and dvdfab will NOT use CUDA.

Several people are reporting this issue.

                          Thanks.

You probably have the 80 watt variant, I have the 90 Watt variant and it works fine if you change the settings in the NCP

Might be worth noting that if you're doing a 'pass thru' Rip, the video card isn't used - since that's a straight bit for bit copy.
I don't think that's the issue here, but if you've been doing pass thru all this time, then there is no problem - it's working as expected.
