Chapters aren't preserving when ripping The King Of Staten Island

While ripping the Blu Ray for The King of Staten Island the chapters are failing to preserve. I have checked all settings and preserve chapters is set and the Blu Ray lists 20 or 21 chapters but then I rip and the file has none. It's the first time I've had trouble with chapters preserving.

    Thanks!

    Which profile did you use?
Please send us the dvdfab_internal log file.
Also, please use Mediainfo tool to analyze the output file and attach the result here.
    Thanks.

I use a customized MKV. My custom profile does have Preserve Chapters checked and tried numerous times. Here are all the outputs.

      Thanks!

We will see if we can duplicate the issue. Any news I will update you.

Thanks, and just a heads up, I just updated to 12.0.0.4 and same issue.

Hello again, I have found that if i rename the default file name and uncheck and recheck preserve chapters it works. This should work as a work around but i think it has to do with renaming.

We could not duplicate the issue with other sources we have.
What's the name and what did you rename it to?

                Hey Mona,

I thought I was ripping and chapters were working but I was wrong. When I rip the same BluRay title with the same settings in DVDFab 10.2.1.7 it preserves the chapters. In 12.0.3.6 it is not. I have provided the MediaInfo for these two ripping the same title and showing chapters in 1 and not the other. In 12 it looks like it pulls in 200 instances of the 00:00:00:000 timestamps. I also moved to another computer in the past 6 months and it occured on the old one and this new one the same. I can rip from the old version but would prefer to move on to the new version.

Edit: Also working fine in 11.1.0.7. So only having issues in 12 as both version 10 and 11 seem to work.

Hey Mona, I re-ripped all 8 seasons with 11.1.0.7 and it worked with that. Posting the logs from 11 and 12 of season 1 rips.

I set it up the same on both and even took pics of one to make sure the other was setup the same. They both used the same profile where I have it set to "Preserve Chapters."

                    Thanks!

Okay, I will have the developer check again.

How's this progressing? I am using 12.0.4.1. Whether I am using the RIPPER or the CONVERTER, I don't have chapters. Yes- I have "preserve chapters" checked. There are no chapters. I am using "MPC-HC", it shows chapters on my rips with earlier versions of DVDFAB. Rather, I see along my entire time line the play time but also an odd number. for example:

                        25:13 - (178)00:00:00:000

                        instead I would expect:

25:13 - (5)00:25:13:00:000 <--- the chapter number and the play/timestamp when that chapter started.

                        Whats up?

Try with VLC or Fab Player and tell us the result. This thread is out of date, next time please start a new one and post it in the forum for the module you are using, not this one.

This thread is not out of date, I just provided my logs a couple weeks ago. This is a very real issue. It doesn't matter what player you use, 12 does not properly preserve chapters.

I had to revert to 10 & 11. 11 works best right now since 10 can't handle my PCs graphics card. They don't appear to want to acknowledge it as a problem even though i can see it. I tried using a new computer and moving everything over and it still happens. I have had chapters preserve SOMETIMES but usually they don't and I can't determine which setting is breaking it.

get the program called Mediainfo (free download) it will show weather the chapters are being preserved or not.

might also try going into common settings - av codec - switch everything to software, restart dvdfab and retry the disc
again and see if the chapters are still being preserved.
