might also try going into common settings - av codec - switch everything to software, restart dvdfab and retry the disc
again and see if the chapters are still being preserved.
I posted the output from the MediaInfo program already, above on July 6th. In version 12 it's posting 200 chapters all with 00:00:00:000 timestamps, but not actually preserving the correct chapters. Both DVDFab 10 and 11 work.

in version 12, does the Preserve Chapters work if you choose MKV.passthrough

I typically don't use passthrough as I have my own criteria I use so I ran one through passthrough to check and same issue arises. You can see it has 200 chapters, and it's on 200 of 200 and that it has that 00:00:00:000 timestamp. It's so irritating that I can do it in 11 just fine. I even updated 12 before doing so this morning.

go into common settings - general settings - click the factory default settings button in the lower left
corner of the general settings area to reset dvdfab back to default settings, restart dvdfab and retry your
disc again. see if you still have the preserve chapters issue.

I tried this and did 7 attempts to see what would work and what wouldn't. After initially restoring to defaults it worked! But then I tried 6 more times and could not get it to work again once, even after the last time when I just restored to factory defaults again. Definitely something to tweak in the code somewhere.

            Attempts
1: Restored to factory Defaults - Worked
2: Changed temp path and checked always check forced subtitles - Failed
3: Restored default path - Failed
4: Restored to factory defaults and checked always check forced subtitles - Failed
5: Restored to factory defaults and checked always check forced subtitles and restarted app - Failed
6: Restored to factory defaults restarted app and checked always check forced subtitles and restarted app - Failed
7: Restored to factory Defaults - Failed

Edit: I tried once more WITHOUT forced subtitles and it worked. I think the issue has to be cleared up there by fixing the Forced Subtitles to not stop the the chapters from preserving.

Mona I have determined what is causing the issue and have not determined a way around it. The issue occurs to any disc when I turn on Forced Subtitles. If I don't turn this on then the chapters preserve but when I do, they don't. You can see in my last post where I was turning them on every time it failed and I finally tried without a couple times and it worked. This should be something they can recreate and fix now that it's pinpointed what is causing it.

have you tried choosing the "always display only forced subtitles" option
and see if your chapters will still preserve ?? - https://forum.dvdfab.cn/forum/softwa...subtitles-plex post #8

is there anyway to extract the forced subtitles and re-add them when you have the chapters preserved ??

Hey Mona, I think they might have fixed it in the latest update. I don't see it in the what's new comments but I updated today and now it seems to be working!
