Is anyone else getting corrupted files in the new betas?

I've sent a note via their "contact us" form.

In 9.0.3.2 beta I was getting multiple corrupted "PNG" files while it was installing.

I was very happy to see 9.0.3.3 beta, but in this one the file DVDFab.exe itself is 'corrupted.'

Win 7 ultimate 64-bit - using MSE for a virus scanner - has anyone else run across this?

I just downloaded it and it's fine. Are you attempting to run the installer from the web site?

      Hm.

No, I'm downloading it to a folder and then executing it.

I'll try d/ling with a different browser. (Currently Chrome.)

The actual message I'm getting is:

        C:\Program Files (x86)\DVDFab 9\DVDFab.exe

An error occurred while trying to copy a file:
        The source file is corrupted.

Click Retry to try again, Ignore to skip this file (not recommended), or Abort to cancel installation.

        [abort/retry/ignore]
This is with the file downloaded by Firefox this time. Are you able to generate an MD5 maybe? I could do the same and see if it's actually corrupted...

Idunno. Completely wiped the previous version, still getting errors. Maybe in a different folder...

          Yeah, I dunno. 9.0.3.0 works fine. 9.0.3.2 (and .3) don't.

            Hi rprussell
I just reinstalled 9.0.3.3 as the first link had problems with activation for some members and was fixed with the newer link, mine installed perfect though.
I suggest uninstalling Fab, then run a registry cleaner like CCleaner found here until nothing is found.
Next download a fresh installer found here
Save it to your download folder, right click the installer and select run as administrator.
            Hope this helps

And now I'm getting this with 9.0.3.0:

              12:42:17 Work 1 failed, Error = graph 0 error: filter name(native_mux), type(128), id(12), get module_error(module_mux_mp4 module_mux_mp4 error_write_video_sample)
(olllld Phantom of the Opera dvd)

What the heck is going on?

I will try your suggestions, thanks.

              Meanwhile - the log.

Will do. In the process of cleaning my registry atm.

The problem is that I can't even get it installed, so the execution log is sort of superfluous.

Okay - after uninstalling 9.0.3.0 (although 8 is still on here) - and running ccleaner - and with a fresh download of the 9.0.3.3 installer from the above link - it still claims that DVDFab.exe is corrupted.

If I "Ignore" that file, it goes on and installs the rest of them without error - but of course the main EXE is missing.

I am trying to locate the temp folder where installshield unpacks everything to see whether the file is there, but it's either too clever or too quick for me.

                    Grump.

                    Thoughts?

You might try disabling the AV program MSE until the software is downloaded and installed.

                        Duh, great idea!

Didn't work. In fact, the newest download is also reporting QtGui4.dll as corrupted.

                        I AM SO CONFUSED.

And when I have MSE run a scan on the installer it doesn't flag it.

I'm going to reboot, 'coz why the heck not...

I was just trying to help you, not a mistake I'm likely to make again - good luck!

The MD5 checksum for the revised 9033 installer is 8956FD10241BFB1D2DFDC48F6C71F25E

If I "Ignore" that file, it goes on and installs the rest of them without error - but of course the main EXE is missing.

I am trying to locate the temp folder where installshield unpacks everything to see whether the file is there, but it's either too clever or too quick for me.

It was a good idea - I recognized it as a good idea - it didn't pan out - I appreciate the suggestion, I don't understand your snark. Maybe "facepalm" instead of "Duh" would have been more appropriate on my part?

No offense intended - the concept I was trying to get across was "AUGH!" and perhaps "Really grasping at straws now!" because that's about where I am.

FWIW now Trillian is acting up. I'm starting to feel really messed with here.
