If you have any Hard drives or DVD/Blu-ray drives with drive letters A or B then DVDFab will give you this problem as well

        Hi kshduckman1170:
Would you please post the internal log? It's very important for us, and we're tracking this issue.

        Thanks,
        Potti

          I use C drive only...

What kind of internal logs you looking for? Maybe a screen shot to show me exactly what your looking for.

So, I gave it a day. I went in this morning and did the step by step rundown that Gregi sent to me. I did a ccleaner. I uninstalled dvdfab 8 and all it's bits. I then re-booted cause it told me to complete the uninstall I needed to re-start system. Once I got back in I followed the directions to a tee but once again it will not open up for me to even put in the key. The version on my computer says 8082. The notebook comes up and tells me that too but at launch it will not open. Everything else seems to be perfect other then the fact dvdfab will not open up. I even did a ccleaner of the registry again....I also did the msconfig and the everything I had already tried before. It is sooo weird I cannot get past 8073. That one loads up perfectly and opens as admin...

so that is the latest. I still am not sure what internal log is needed as the only thing I can open and use is 8073...beyond that not sure where to get the log if I try and download 8082.....

                  Hi kshduckman1170
I know that some are thinking that it is Fab's fault, but you may also have corrupt Windows registry's, so here is something that may help if you want to give it a go http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...e-checker.html , I have used this in the past to repair windows registry's that were corrupt.

I am not referencing this to you but most users do not do enough required maintenance on their computers to keep them running in "tip top" shape

                  Hope this helps

I cannot cornfirm this but I have a feeling that it is somehow related to rights/privileges in the "Home" version of Windoze.

I have tested it on 5 machines available to me ranging from XP SP3 thru to Win7 Ultimate X64 with absolutely no problems.

I have no further suggestions until the developers chime in.

                        Sorry Buddy !!!

You're right, folks need to be specific when posting.
However, this user is obviously not a noob and has attempted to answer everything asked of him/her...for 7 pages now.

Sorry, but I'm afraid Fengtao & team are going to have to roll up their sleeves on this one.
As of this post, there are entirely too many users posting issues when attempting to install recent Fab versions.
Thankfully, I'm not one of them.

I know Fengtao to be a man of integrity and with him at the helm, I have no doubt this will be resolved.

I respectfully urge users having trouble to pm or email him.

                          Just my 2 cents

I am sure that the devs will have to roll up their sleeves on this one!!!

I suspect a rights/privileges problem in some brain-dead versions of Windoze and am trying to find something common.

I have tested on 5 machines here with no probs. OS's range from XP SP3 to Win 7 Ultimate X64 but all > "Professional".

Ok more info...just trying to give as much info as I can. It still is not working.

I did a full system clean of all things on my computer, even more then a simple registry clean.

Once again tried 8082...actually started with beta 8080 but as usual it appears to download and yet again it will not open but here is the new thing...I received this message.

                              Unable to execute file
                              c:\ProgramFiles\DVDFAB8\Dvdfab.exe

                              create process failed: code 740
                              The requested operation requires elevation

So that is something new...still doesn;t work but maybe that tells you something else.

Anyway as usual I am back at 8073

Haha, my primary rig is Win7 Pro 64-bit...never a problem with Fab since my build back in Oct. '09
It's also ok on my old, reliable XP Pro 32-bit rig and my dauughter's Win7 Premium Home 64-bit lappie.

Yup, time for the guys and gals in Beijing to get their hands dirty...
