I guess you have already tried turning off your antivirus before installing and then running dvdfab ?

I don't get it this morning I tried install the new beta version so I completely uninstalled fab then installed 9306 beta and it wouldn't even open. So I installed 9305 on top of that and it was fine. I closed the program and reopened it and the black screen was back. Why does 9244 work fine. It has to be the program not my computer

Try v9.3.0.7, I can't duplicate what you are seeing with the black screen thing. Do a full download from the link in the forum and run it As Admin.

Down load the whole program from dvdfab's web site then reinstall when you get the option for the directory or folder to install to, change that to something else add a letter or number then you have a clean install. when uninstalling a program the old folder sometimes remains and is a problem when you let dvdfab update itself it goes into the old problem matic folder Say it again do a clean install.

9303 and 04 and 05 had a problem with the interface when booted the body is clear but after I started a DVD it worked fine when i dropped back to a earlier version I don't see this problem.

I installed 9307 and got the black screen again. I closed it and reopened the program and everything is fine. If I close it and reopen it again the black screen is back. Any other thoughts

                        Hi dbagger
I understand you're frustrated and I have edited one of your posts, please watch the acronyms in your posts, this is your only warning.

What makes you think it is the program and not your computer??? If it was the program this forum would be lit up like a Christmas tree with members wondering why this is happening.
I believe it is a hardware or setting problem on your computer. My suggestion is to make sure that everything is up to date. Try FileHippo App Manager 1.47 found here

Note: This will not tell you everything that needs to be updated on your computer but, it will be a start.

I always install all my programs as administrator and sometimes also run them as administrator.
To install as administrator right click the downloaded program exe. file and select run as administrator. To run a program already installed right click the desktop icon and select run as administrator.
                        Hope this helps

Even if it's a little thing, do something for those who have need of help, something for which you get no pay but the privilege of doing it.

I apologize and thank you ever since the xp support was taken out I have had this problem.the reason I don't think it's my computer is because nothing on it has changed that I'm aware of and also version 9244 works perfectly. I run windows 7 home. The latest install of 9307 does the same thing with the black screen. I closed it and reopened it and it was fine. I opened it again and the black screen is back.aaaggghhh

one more thing if you haven't tried is to upgrade your video drivers going from xp to win7 is a pretty big jump. just reading your post it sounds like the video is causing a problem you may have to get an update from your video graphic card website or your computer's site support
