DVDFab is only responsible for what it as a company said it would do. DVDFab said it would keep those of us who have already purchased products updated, we'd still have access.

Pulling the full product we US based folks purchased licenses for IS DVDFabs responsibility and in their control.

In this regard DVDFab has turned their back on their word.

      jsmiddleton4,

What would happen if the US courts ordered all ISPs to block access to DVDFab regardless of their domain?

I do feel let down but I'm hoping that the company can show a higher level of support than we are seeing. It is not a pleasant situation but I think it is still evolving.

Please go read the FAQ http://www.dvdfab.cn/how_to_do_disc_...htm#how_to_faq, also the full product is not pulled, just the Blu-ray decryption. The original intent was to continue to provide updates, but the legal situation has changed many times and chages must be made to adapt. It may change again in the future. This thread is not intended for debates or rants, just as a source of information or questions. You can also contact the Service Team in Beijing via the Support->Contact option on the website.

Signals, it is understood that changes are taking place. No one disputes that. What is bothering a lot of US customers is promises were made by DVDFab that US lifetime license holders would continue to have updates to the full program for life. DVDFab should not have said this to begin with because it's now leaving a bitter taste to US customers who feel they have been mislead. No one here is ranting. Just expressing.

Things change, and this is a very complicated matter. They did not want to do it I can assure you, but it is the way things are for now. Enough.

I bought this program specifically for Blu-Rays. Now the built-in decrypt is gone. I understand why but when I posted this morning regarding whether a competitors decrypting product would work with the latest version my post was removed. It was a legit question and since the company can no longer offer me the primary feature I bought a lifetime license for they should stop this pettiness when a post references another program, by name, that would give some life to their gutted one. This approach shows a lack of professionalism and if it were possible I would ask for a full refund just on that alone.

I assume passkey would work.Yes/No? If so how about a special price for US owners? I think using Passkey name is permitted?

I deleted the post and if you had read the forum rules you'd know why. Try the other product and see if it works is the best answer I have for you. Passkey does work.

Please read the FAQ on the DVDFab website, anything listed there should work.

Yes, I do know the gag rule. However, I saw the dreaded product names mentioned in an earlier post regarding the feature removal so I thought it was permitted with respect to this new development. Based on this forums rule the the removal of a competitors product name is allowed even though it is a juvenile rule. At least on the other nameless forum they are allowing conversation regarding DVDFABs problems and even exhibiting some sympathy. They have a thread strictly for 3rd party S/W. This is like Apple not allowing people to use the words Microsoft or Samsung on their forums. Come on what is everyone afraid of?? Competition is good for consumers.

Thanks for confirming at least one program for decrypting will work. However, I do not want to upgrade and lose this last version until I know what works and does not work so I salvage something from this mess. I own the other program already but as far as I can tell if I upgrade, actually, downgrade, I may not be able to go back and then the program is 100% useless to me. I do not want to have to buy a $50 add on to a downgraded program especially if that is the next thing to be eliminated.

The competitor listed in the FAQ`s works flawlessly. Just use it to rip Blu-ray to hard drive first in iso format, then compress and burn as usual. I used it this morning and it works flawlessly.

Thank you very much. I appreciate your post and decided to go for it. I just wanted to be sure someone else had tried it. I hate censorship and that is what really bugged me when my post was deleted. The rules allow it but even after deleting it there should have been a comment, by the moderator, as to whether or not I was making a good assumption. Pretending there is not another company out there is childish. Most of the people on this forum probably know of all the programs out there both free and not free. Why pretend? The other nameless company is almost but not quite as bad...

Look at the Fab forum for other country's around the world there's only one part of the forum from overseas that have any numbers and that's Germany so by this you can tell most Fab sales that are forum members are from the US. Canada and the UK.

Also the other company's with decrypters who's to say there not on the hit list next?
You forgot Australia (me}and China. Just because they are not on this members forum doesn't mean they don't exist or even know that there is such a thing as a FAB forum.I only found out by chance not that long ago whilst I've been with Fab since nearly at the beginning.Fab is still the best program going around. and will last with or without the US.

Do you remember "RipIt4Me"? My memory may be off, but I seem to recall that the author was from down under - and he was shut down due to Australia law enforcement . . . the problem is not isolated to the USA . .
