Problem with GTX260 and enabling CUDA decode/encode

      just backup underworld a 133 minutes movie only BD25
      with setting cuda encode / decode software , fast/normal
      avg speed are 6.25MB/s 70min to compress.
      your time of 75,100 minutes are good and fast.
      35 fps are good too.
      Windows 7 64bit ultimate
      CPU: i7 4770K @4.5 vcore@1.28v temps 27c/67c
      RAM: 16GB DDR3 @2133
      GPU: nVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 2GB
      SSD: 2 X 60GB OCZ vertex 3 RAID 0 (boot drive)
      HHD: 1 TB WD BLK (storage and back up)
      PSU: 760W ,Fans 1x200mm and 2x120mm

        To be honest with you, the speed of DVDFab is in my opinion it's best quality. However, having read that a few on here are able to utilize the Cuda Encoder and Decoder successfully I figured I would do my best to maximize the program's capabilities. While you're times seem similar, you must bear in mind that you're using the slow setting while I'm using the fast setting.

        Do you find that you're able with your profile that you successfully can compress VC1 movies since your using CUDA for both encoding and decoding? Perhaps I should consider CoreAVC, at least that way I can get a boost for most movies since greater than 2/3 of my movie collection utilizes AVC.

          yes I can successfully compress VC1 movies.
          BTW underworld setting was FAST/normal.
          if I use SLOW/high quality it is about 1MB/s slower to compress.

              faster for my set up CoreAVC is running about avg 1MB/s slower
              but with my setting I have been able to backup 100% of my BD.
              Very happy with dvdfab and both of my vidoe cards, GTX275 and GTS250.
              Quality on all my backups are great watching on a 60" LG w/5.1 surronnd sound.

                I realize CUDA encode is faster but I was wondering whether you noticed any appreciable improvement in speed using Core AVC relative to just the software option. The only reason I even started this thread is because I'm unable to get CUDA encoding to work. BTW, that's quite the PC.

                  It is nice to have coreavc in my pc as an option.
                  If you are able to get over 5MB/s when compression in any setting
                  to that is great.My old pc compression main movie only BD25 was
                  1.2 to 1.80MB/s 5+ hours.

                      I don't notice a big difference in speed from COREAVC and CUDA. What I notice is the CUDA processed movie is better quailty, less intermitent glitches and pixelations. Speed both COREAVC and CUDA run between 5 and 7 mb/s.
                      On a side note: Process speed will increase substantialy if you have/use two harddrives. Read from one, and write to another.
                      but if you can't get CUDA working, COREAVC is only $12, give it a try.
