DVD Ripper DVD Fab 9 crashes using DVD Ripper

So I'm need of some help here. Whenever I use the DVD Ripper in DVDFab 9 (current release as of today and before), the program allows me to setup the rip, but after I hit start it closes out the program and tells me there was an error and asks if I want to send the info by email. I haven't been able to rip a disc with Fab 9 for quite some time. Fab 8 works perfectly fine.

I have uninstalled and installed the latest drivers for the video card (GeForce 430). I have uninstalled all versions of DVDFab (8 & 9), run CCleaner, restarted the computer 3 times, run CCleaner again multiple times, restarted again, then disabled Microtrend Antivirus. Installed DVDFab 9, using run as Administrator, added it to the whitelist of Microtrend, and then ran Fab 9 as an administrator. I attempted to rip using CUDA only and then using Software only. Same problem both ways. Below is the log.

    So to update:

I've been playing with the program and it only crashes when attempting to rip to a VOB. I use a vob for the clarity of picture and sound, and stream the movies to my PS3. Is there another format that I could use that would give me the same clarity and be able to play on the PS3? I've tried most formats and either they aren't supported or they are blocky. Ideas? Anybody?

I have reported this problem to the developers for at least the last 2 months and it has not yet been fixed. I even detailed the exact steps to cause the crash. I also RIP to a .vob file and if I have the "display only forced subtitles" box checked, it crashes as soon as it starts the RIP. If I turn off that check box, it does the RIP normally (but doesn't include any subtitles, of course).

I have fixed this problem by using the latest version to do a DVDCOPY to a folder on my hard drive, then I use an old version (version 8.) to do the RIP to a .vob. This gets around the problem but is a very clumsy way to do it. I have no idea when they will get around to fixing this problem, but it doesn't seem very important to them.

Hi nsblum, please uncheck "Display only forced Subtitle" option and try again, thanks.

Didn't I just say that in my post right above yours? This specific problem has been reported to DVDFAB for several weeks and, months before that, I reported the crash problem without realizing what was causing it. When will this problem be fixed?

VOB Passthrough seems to be broken in v9.0.4.5:

            10:34:34 Conversion
            10:34:34 Work 1 failed, Error = graph control_filter_error error: filter name(dvd_passthrough), type(1), id(28), get module_error(512.03 2)

Fails immediately with all Source content, whether subs are included or excluded from processing.

You know I had to try this. I made several .vob from various DVD folders on the HDD the video works a treat and the subs are exported which is pointless, they are intermittent and way off ahead of the action. But I get no errors?

Did you have the "display only forced subtitles" box checked on the title line?

                          IWork 1 failed, Error = graph not_suitable_connected_filter graph(0) - pinName:video

Hi, I am a new member who just bought DVD Ripper 9.0.4.5 and I am getting the same error:

                          Work 1 failed, Error = graph not_suitable_connected_filter graph(0) - pinName:video frame

every time I try to ripper any of my original DVDs.

I have no idea what this issue is or how to fix it as I never used DVDFab previously.

I would appreciate any help on this as I want to ripper a number of movies for my kids to watch on holiday in the next 2 weeks.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

I've managed to get DVDFab ripper working again. This is what I did and I hope to works for you too:

                              1. I rebooted my Computer
                              2. Ran CCleaner - I also scanned for any issues in the registry and repaired these.
                              3. Restarted DVDFab and this time it worked first try!
