Fengtao - The first line of the log shows that I am using 8051

CBR929 - I know that I was burning at the highest speed and using really bad DVD's - the reason was so I could get log files. I have been trying over and over again burning at 2x speed and going through many, many of my better Verbatim discs. As this was an exercise just to get log files I did not want to use good media or spend extra time when burning.

The latest version 8051 has made no difference at all.

Is it something to do with the pulldown method that DVDFab is using? I have been trying other software to convert blurays to DVD and when looking at the files in MediaInfo they show a pulldown entry line. Looking at the DVDFab files they don't have any pulldown entry? I admit, I don't know much about pulldown, all I am doing is comparing one set of files to another and trying to spot the difference to see if that helps :-)

CBR929 - Just thought - the Jumpy play back that I am seeing is not the kind associated with bad media or badly burnt discs.

I have just been thinking - that type of jumpy is when there are real glitches and the video hangs for a bit and then jumps forward. This is not what I am seeing.

It is difficult to explain - when watching any slow moving bits its as though a frame is dropped or missed out every few frames.

I actually have a WD TV box linked to my TV and I put the files FAB created on that. It too showed this strange jumpy playback - or missing frame playback.

Hope it is something that others are seeing and just not me.

It is really not only you. I am trying to backup 10,000 BC and every sequence is showing this. It is very easy to spot at the beginning of the movie when the camera is flying over the landscape. I could add my own log if this would help you guys...

Thank goodness - someone else seeing this problem

Now we just need it fixed :-)

I have actually been doing some tests with 2 other bits of software that allow conversion from Blu Rays to DVD - a rather long way of doing it, but both are free. They both have good video with no jumpy playback at all - if they can do it, then a paid software should certainly be able to do it :-)

Here is the log of my two burns: the first one was with a DVD-R with all features and extra bonus. The second one was with a DVD+R DL with only the main movie (10000 BC). Both disks are showing the same problem.

I will post in three steps. Both logs are not fitting in the same post...

Is there any further development on this issue?

My trial of the BluRay to DVD module expires on the 9th Dec - I don't want to pay for the module until this has been resolved and the only way to check is by burning new discs - If my trial expires I can't test it?

Here is the response I got from support:

1.Please try to install DVDFab 8.0.5.3 Beta at

http://www.dvdfab.com/mlink/download.php?g=DVDFAB_BETA

to see the result.

2.Please install Imgburn at http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download,
click the round green icon button with a check mark at the right top corner
of the DVDFab screen, open "Common Settings" window, click on "write", set
the burning engine as Imgburn, then burn again to see the result.

Please visit http://forum.dvdfab.com/showthread.php?t=33 to set DVDFab work
together with imgburn.

3.Please use other good quality disc to see the result. Our suggestion is
that you should try using a different brand/format media, check your writer
manufacturers site for a list of recommended media to use and also check if
there are any firmware updates available for your Writer.

I kind of get annoyed when the default answer is always - use the latest version of the software and use good quality discs.

Like many others, I always make sure that I am using the most up to date version of the software. - However, I understand that if they get it fixed they have to tell you to use the latest version :-)

As for the good quality discs - again, I do try and use the best, but from experience good discs and bad discs do not cause the jitters that I am seeing. I have used some of the cheapest discs and other (Free) software that converts to DVD's and they play without any jitters. I have also tried playing the converted files on a WD TV Live and a Dvico TVIX box. They both show the same jitters - so that completely rules out the good / bad disc argument as they are being played directly from a hard drive :-)

As for the burning software, I use Nero and ImgBurn and to be honest, never had any problems with either of them. But I am quite happy to use ImgBurn here, but the end versions both have the same jitters so to me it the problem is being generated during the conversion process by DVDFab.

The free software versions are not the best, take a very long time and are not that intuitive so I am really hoping that they can get the DVDFab version to work properly. Fingers crossed :-) Then I will be more than happy to add it to all the rest of the DVDFab modules that I have purchased and am very happy with :-)

Just tried new version 8.0.5.5 still getting the jerky playback. This time it stuttered quite a lot :-(

When playing a DVD on my TV I have noticed some jumpy playback, but only on the TV.

Burnt several discs using the different engines (VSO and ImgBurn) and at different speeds. Went right down to 2x and still get the jumpy playback.

Its not horrendously bad, but once you notice it, it spoils the viewing experience.

Does anyone else have this issue? Can it be fixed?

You got a jumpy picture. What I did was stopped using windows 7. Windows 7 is bad for FAB DVD. I used XP and make disc perfectly. But unlike windows 7 you can control sub programming in XP.Windows 7 wont allow you to delete, as you want. First you have to get rid of trusted installer. This will allow limited access of windows 7.But with Xp you can remove any program or DRM file you want. First get rid of internet explorer. If you can down grade it to IE6.Then trash windows media player 11. IE9 and media player 11 are magnets for DRM files. Down grade to media player 8 or 9. They attract far less copyright DRM files. You may want to re install xp to get a fresh start. This will allow you to rid of IE. Load a copy of fire fox or chrome onto a stick. Then you can install a browser with out activating IE.Leave IE dead. Also leave media player packed. Then install all of your programs. Such as word or photo lab. FABDVD etc. Now go to your search and type capitol “DRM” then start search. Let the search go til finished. You will see all the copyright files dragged to your computer. Start deleting from the bottom up. Start with the last on the very bottom. Delete no more then 3 at a time. Some of the DRM files are main system soft ware files. These wont delete. When you hit them there is no option to delete. Don’t worry you wont hurt anything. When you are done you should have about 19 to 21 main system DRM that you could not delete. That is what you want. Now reinstall fab DVD and reboot. Some movies go through FABDVD in 6 minutes. Others may take up to 24 minutes. You will also notice a speed increase. See you are telling your computer to obey FABDVD. It will with out all of the copyright files deleted. What I see in most of you guys post are copyright conflicts. This will fix not 1 but all the problems you may have with FABDVD. Now lets talk about updates. Updates contain DRM files. When FABDVD start having problems search and destroy DRM again.
