You're talking nonsense... you're acting as if we're hacking into Amazon and Netflix, sucking up their content without giving them any money.

And just to clarify, if Fab were a European, Canadian or US company, our stance would be the same...

I think Mediafan is just looking for attention. The competitor has cracked every DRM except Netflix video, they have the audio at Dolby Atmos and they can download all new movies in 540p SD which is better than the DVD (480p) but not as good as 1080p. That is the only issue they have,

Fuck you, Idiot! You have no idea what Jack and I went through trying to get you your Japanese porn and anime (probably Hentai). We worked our butts off, from what we thought was the inside, trying to make StreamFab the best direct streaming video downloader in the world. We were told that we would be "influencers" that would provide them with ideas and the problems that were affecting the users most. It became a one way affair where we did our part, but nothing ever came from their side. We rarely got replies back from our posts. When we did, it was one sentence long and written in poor English, often it had nothing to do with what we posted. When the DRM problem arose, things got even worse. I don't know how many times we told them not to use CleverGet re-encoding, but they always had an excuse why they had to. We were getting nowhere. They simply do not know how to operate a business, nor do they care what their existing customers think. I do not have any business running experience (unless you count a cat rescue operation), but Jack does. He is a director at a large Canadian software company. He knows how customers should be treated and how the software industry works. DVDFab, the company, is pure amateur stuff. This isn't about capitalism. Hong Kong* has a long history of capitalism, starting with the British selling opium there. So, it's no surprise that China is the largest supplier in the world of illegal Fentanyl, as well as pirated software and movies. You being an owner of both StreamFab and Blu-ray Creator are just as guilty as the rest of us in promoting that form of capitalism. So, get off your high horse.

        * Up until recently, DVDFab, the company, was listed as being located in Hong Kong. Now, it is shown as being in Beijing.

First off, torrenting is stealing. Not paying the monthly fees for the content but watching it anyway is stealing. You sound like someone who has cable or fiber and can stream to their heart's content. Try this, limit your bandwidth to 9.8Mb/s max (what I'm stuck with) and try to stream a 1080p title and tell me how it goes. The streaming providers cater to broadband, period.

The only way I can guarantee zero buffering is to download the title ahead of time. Watch it once, twice, three times then it's deleted. Unless I really like it then I BUY it. I didn't steal a damn thing, just made sure I got my monthly fee's worth. If they want me to stream it exclusively they can pay the $10,000 I was quoted to run fiber to my house. It's a little like charging me rent for a boat in 3" of water. Sure I can rev the motor but it's not going anywhere anytime soon.

Stealing is taking money for something you can't deliver. If you think it's not I've got a 66 Impala I'll sell you for $1000 shipped. Just give me the money and the car is yours. Wouldn't you be just a little pissed if you got a Hot Wheels 66 Impala in the mail? I paid for a muscle car and got an AMC Pacer.

I've had DVDFab for many years and there was NEVER a 3 month lapse between copy protection and fix. I backed up all my DVDs so I never had to touch them again. As I would buy them I'd back them up.

The mods did not step down due to the backlash. Hell, they feel our pain! They got tired of the empty promises, complete lack of input and total radio silence. Fab threw them under the bus. Simple as that.

If you're fine with the state of thing by all means enjoy it. Just do it quietly and enjoy driving that Pacer. I wonder where your acceptance level will be when 6 months rolls around.

If the developers are working on a new MyFans module they are NOT working on Amazon, Paramount+, NetFlix, Peacock, MAX or any of the other BROKEN modules. Issues as serious and numerous as this for any sane thinking company would be ALL HANDS ON DECK!
Win11 Pro 22H2, no bloatware, no spyware, no crapware, no TPM, no Secure Boot, no MS account. And yes, you can dual boot 7 and 11.

Yesterday, I received an email announcing a new StreamFab MyFans product. I did not even know what MyFans was, so I Google searched it.

Then, I got angry! Instead of fixing what needs to be fixed, the company dangles another carrot to bite.

In my younger years, I would rattle the cage, but this is getting old, and I simply no longer have the energy.

Since most of us likely paid for the lifetime subscription and already have the modules we most need, it unfortunately makes a certain amount of sense that SF could care less about us (we are expendable). What brings in the revenue is new subscribers and purchases of more modules. I can envision 6 months to a year from now, we with the expectations of downloads, will either go to the competition, give up entirely and go a different route, or will just become acclimated to the screen-recorder and long processing results. Those new to SF will just accept it for what it is, not knowing any difference. In the end, SF is better off in that they don't have to crack DRM changes ever again, and the forum will be more about bugs they can fix. I wouldn't be surprised if in the near future they start deleting/locking all threads complaining about screen-recording and DRM issues or start banning folks that don't comply to clean up the forum. Heck, we probably would have been better off if they had initially implemented a yearly subscription model like AS now has, since then they at least would have to worry about losing our ongoing revenue. For now, SF is just buying their time for the screen recorder to be accepted as their new norm.

While closing down my membership in the DVDFab Influencers chat on Zoom, I found this little ditty. This is from January 26th. I was so worried about Wilson screwing things up, the day after the DRM changed, I wrote out step by step directions on how to handle the situation and stay on the good side of the users. He never replied nor carried through on any of the suggestions.

                Wilson,

If I'm supposed to be an "Influencer", I need to influence you as to how to act with regard to your users.

                1) Replace the notice at the top of the forum to say that all modules could be affected in some way.

                2) Have a very likable female spokesperson that is fluent in English give a daily progress report in the forum. I suggest Erika. 99.5% of users here are English-speaking males and would take more kindly to what she would write. She must keep promoting patience and that it is StreamFab's top priority to get everything working again. She needs to keep it sweet and light-hearted at the same time.

                3) Emphasize that Google caused this at the request of the streaming and media companies. StreamFab is a victim in this.

                4) Our competitors also have the same problem.

                5) Make it known that the Developers have temporarily dropped all other work and are working night and day, even on the weekends, to solve this DRM problem as soon as possible.

Unless you take these steps, you have about 1 week before the users start to turn on you and want to know why it is not fixed yet. With each passing week, it will get worse. StreamFab needs to be out front and open. Always reflect positivity.

No idea why you think streamfab is downloading coverart. All I have seen it do is pull thumbnails which are pointless to me. Since I use Plex and/or Kodi to watch my content it handles all my coverart for me through metadata. Could be all those hard core people on that forum are using this method also.

As Raiden would say, "I don't think so." I'll get used to re-encoding when my ass leaks purple peanut butter. You may be right though. Just biding their time until we get tired and fade away. Not me. If I shut up it means only one thing and one thing only, that I received what I paid for. Until then......

That is the big difference between the Developers of StreamFab and AS.

The Developers of StreamFab have not been able to make the download from Amazon possible again for Months (without re-encode)

And the Developers at AS fix problems with Amazon within a few hours.

That's why I've switched to AS in the meantime.

Every time I look at the Forum here, the Members are just ripping each other apart because of the many problems with StreamFab.

I had no choice but to switch to AS. The reasons in favor of this are many. The reasons against it zero. In many ways I'm grateful SF pushed me in that direction. There is no radio silence there. Here we are essentially abandoned, and for what? Perverts and degenerates? I don't know about anyone else but I am highly insulted by the fact they release a new porn module while SO MUCH is broken and has been for far too long. For paid products. There is a huge contrast between the two downloader teams.

It appears management and development here are simply hoping we'll go away over time. They must be completely indifferent as there is no way I could sleep a wink suffering that level of embarrassment. There is a word that best describes the situation with SF. Pathetic.
