I believe the same thing, it has to do with some compatibility problem. I sure wish someone would figure it out. I love this program and i am unable to use at the moment. If someone would please help. I am willing to try and do whatever you suggest.

      Same issue

I have the BSOD also. The first laptop I purchased was a Toshiba 755, I returned it, not realizing that the issue might be the software. But after getting the BSOD, the laptop would not recognize any DVD so I actually returned the laptop after 5 days and purchased an ASUS, and guess what, the same BSOD. That laptop still does recognize dvd's so I don't have that issue, just the OS crash.

        BSOD

After reading your post I ran to see if my laptop (Toshiba 775) would play DVDfab created dvd's and it did.

I still cannot use DVDfab on my new 775 without getting the BSOD at 100% just before it ejects the master looking for a blank dvd. Very disappointed that my software no longer works.

I do think this is just the beginning of problems other Windows 7 OS users with silverlight software installed. Hopefully the software engineers will solve the problem.

I was wondering if the new version that was released yesterday would work or not.

I sure hope someone in the development department figures this out. I miss this program. I cant seem to get a good minidump file to post for them either. For some reason mine is not saving it correctly. When i get the BSOD it says it writing the file, but where it shows the progress it just shows dots not a percentage like it used. I wish someone would help us here.

worked with an external DVD writer

I have an external DVD writer and thought, what the heck, let me try it. I hooked it up to the laptop, putting the original DVD in the rom on the laptop
and a blank one in the external writer. It worked fine. Just wanted to let you guys know. Now, it will be nice if I didn't have to hook it up in the first place.

Add me to the list of users that has the exact same problem. I have a Toshiba Satellite E305 (?) with v. 8.1.1.2. I first experienced the crash problem shortly after purchasing, so I exchanged it with the same model but it still crashes. Today I downloaded the latest version of DVDFab software onto my husband's new HP and it crashes also!!!

I was in communication with DVDFab back in June, but nothing was resolved. The recommendation was to save to my hard drive and then burn the disk. It'd be nice if DVDFab would help with a solution.

"Please make sure you've upgraded to the latest version of DVDFab QT 8.1.0.0. You can follow the steps as follows, we use "Main Movie" mode as the example:
                    1) Insert the original movie into your DVD drive, after analyze, choose the target location as one of your hard drive, start to copy.
                    2) After finished the copying process, you will get a folder named of "MainMovie" which is in your save location.
                    3) Choose "Main Movie" mode on start screen, choose the saved movie folder as the source, insert a blank disc into your DVD burner, choose your DVD burner as the target to burn."

Have any of you with this problem tried the latest version, v8.1.1.5 and if so what were the results?

If you will direct me to that version, I will try it. Everything I see refers to v8.1.1.2

                        Thanks!

ETA: Nevermind. I found the link and will give it a go.

I downloaded the v8.1.1.5 and it crashed right when the first process was done and the drive opened for the blank disc, same as v8.1.1.2.

I also tried to follow the directions that I got back in June, where I saved the movie folder on my hard drive, then attempted to save on the disc, but that failed as well.

When my computer crashes, I get a BLUE SCREEN. It looks like the error message is: "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL"

Thanks for the feedback, it will help isolate the problem.

I have been a happy DVDFab customer for many years, but for the past few months it has been very limited. It would make me very happy to help solve this problem!

I don't think I mentioned it, but I am able to use DVDFab on another HP laptop that we own, which is about a year old. It now belongs to the kids, so I'd rather use my own or my husband's new laptops.

dhanu56 gave me the idea to try using an external hard drive for burning the disk, so I tried it this morning with success using the Toshiba Satellite laptop. I put the original disk into the laptops disk drive and put the blank in the external drive. It made the transition from process one to process two without crashing =)
