    Hi Frankster91
Are you installing over the top of the previous version or are you installing them separately???
Also when installing the installer for Fab
I always do this for all my programs, instead of clicking run I click save then open the folder and right click and install the programs as administrator, be sure to do this.

If you can get a version running and you are installing over the top of the previous one try this from one of my previous posts:
Change what is in Blue on the install screens

During install when the screen comes up for destination folder I put C:\Program Files\DVDFab 8073 and start menu folder I put DVDFab 8073, I change the blue from DVD Fab8, and add 073 after the 8, which will allow me to have more than one version installed, right now I have 5 versions of 8 installed and running, it will not put 2 icons on your desktop but, click start on your desktop, all programs scroll to DVD Fab and it will be there.

Even if it's a little thing, do something for those who have need of help, something for which you get no pay but the privilege of doing it.

Yes, I always save to disk and scan before I install anything. The first install was a clean install, the rest were install overs. I have not tried the "Run as Admin" on Xp, havent had to.I'm the only Admin and login on this rig. I do on my Win 7 rigs though. I'll try your suggestion and post back soon. Thanks!!

        CBR929,
I did what you suggested by the letter but still the same issue. QT8087 installs but no QT version after that will install. They either hang and wont finish installing or they finish installing but won't open. I also get this error at times.

DVDFAB.EXE Application Error. The instruction at"0x00000000 the memory could not be read click ok to terminate the program. Then the install completes (or the uninstall) and then I have to kill it in the Task manager.

Based on the error in red there is a couple things I would try. Have your OS disk in the drive, open a command window and type: sfc /scannow (there is a space between sfc and /scannow) this will verify the Windows protected files on your system in case the install didn’t go as planned. Then I would run Memtest86 exhaustive memory test. This will stress your memory and detect a bad DIMM if any.
How to post the internal log

                Hi 90312
I have also read up on doing what you have suggested.
This can also happed if not enough virtual memory is not allocated for the Paging file of the drives, in which your memory DIMM may be fine.

Perhaps, but unless the operator intervenes and changes the default settings for virtual memory this is unlikely.

I have gotten that error but not always most of the time it doesn't give me any at all but just sits there. Sometimes it will give the same error but it will be 0x02764a77 referenced at 0x001879d4 could not be read. They change when I do get one.

Virtual memory settings were set at min/max 4096. I changed it to have Windows to manage it and rebooted. Tried QT8092 again but having the same issue.

I ran MemTestx86 ver. 4.0 and it did find a few errors. I removed one Dimm at a time and ran MemTest again until I found which one it was. I removed the matching pair to keep my system at double data rate and ran Memtest again and found nothing.

I tried to install QT8092 again but had the same issue.

                      Still hard at it.

I know I could more than likely fix this issue with a reformat and fresh install of Windows but I'd rather try and fix it without all that as most people would also. I shouldn't have to do that just to go from a non QT working version to a QT version.

Anyone have any thoughts on Securom and the QT versions having an issue?I know on this rig with XP sp3 I have about 15 games that use Securom. My test bed does not have any games and QT8092 works. My Windows 7 rigs have games but they are downloaded from Steam and QT 8092 works. My daughters Vista laptop has no games and QT 8092 will works on it. On my other Xp sp3 rig QT 8092 will not work on it but it does have some Securom protected games on it.

I know I'm shooting in the dark but would like to know your thoughts. I may uninstall those games and run the Securom uninstaller to see if that has any changes on this issue that I'm having.

Do you have the latest .Net Frameworks http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/e...displaylang=en and the latest Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library's http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/e...displaylang=en installed from Microsoft???
If not try installing them and try again.

                            Hi CBR929,

Yes, I have the latest C++ runtimes and I have all the .Net Frameworks installed with the exception of 1.1. I never installed it for I never needed it. Do you think I need one that old?
