All Qt versions

My issue is DVDFabQT will not run.
I attached my installed programs. (Information from CCleaner)
I wish this information to become your light.


MotherBoard: BIOSTAR TA890GXB HD

Thanks Kim152. I see we do have some of the same programs installed but nothing at this time stands out that should be causing our issue. Anything, no matter how small, is very helpful. Thank you again.

Does Fengtao(DVDFAB) have a cleaner for his program? Just like some programs such as Nero and most antivirus programs do that remove every trace of the program from the system and registry. I have not heard of one but I thought I would ask. Thanks..

I am not sure what Fengtao uses, but the two uninstaller's that I use are CCleaner found here "under tools" , if using the cleaner in CCleaner after uninstalling a program make sure to put a check in the "Old Prefetch Data"

For stubborn programs the free Revo Uninstaller found here
I use the advanced mode for Revo but, I very carefully check the folders in Bold in the final scan of registry items to make sure that I am not deleting something that I do not wish to remove.

One time I almost deleted all my "Keys" to my Fab products, but I could have just gone to the members area to get them back.

Also under "Tools" in Revo they have a "junk file cleaner" that cleans up windows files.

I use CCleaner a good bit but it doesnt get everything. I'll give Revo a try. I've installed it before but it didn't find everything as well but it was an older version and I removed it. I'll give this newer version a run. Thanks for the info. I'll post later if I make any headway!!!

Frankster91, along about the time people started reporting a problem Nokia released version 4.7.2.0 of QT. There may be a correlation? If you have a version that works you can hover over the QTcore.dll in the DVDFab directory and see the QT version. There may be some sensitivity in 4.7.2.0 to certain XP configurations. See below:

I tried Revo and used the advanced mode. I deleted everything including the keys. Still a no go with QT8092. Non QT still works fine and still the only QT that will install is QT8087. Not giving up though...

Yes, I checked my working XPsp3 test rig that QT 8092 is installed on and theQTcore4.dll and the QTGUI.dll are indeed version 4.7.2.0 as well as my Windows 7 rig.

One the other XPsp3 rigs that will not run QT8092 but QT8087 works on have QTcore4.dll and QTGUI.dll version 4.7.0.0.

What if I took those dll's off one rig with QT8087 and on the other rig install QT8092 and copy over those 2 DLL's?

Well, it did not work. It was worth a shot. I'm not sure if those DLL's have to be re-registered but just copying them over didn't do the trick..

Still it may be important for the developers to know that QT version 4.7.0.0 works and 4.7.2.0 does not on your XP system.

On my XP with SP3, I have v8092Qt installed with 4.7.2.0 and it works perfectly.

Yeah mine, and most others, do too. It's just some configurations for some unknown reason don't work?

The only thing I saw that causes me concern is that he is running Norton 2011. I have repeatedly found that Symantec products can be very unpredictable. Even with the antivirus turned off, it can still cause all sorts of problems. Also, uninstalling Norton is almost impossible. However, Norton is the first program I would remove but it requires a tedious manual cleaning of the registry.

I wonder if others having the same problem are running Norton?

I agree and do not use Norton anymore, but this is pulled from his first post

All antivirus (Norton 2011) have been turned off but to no avail. The test bed has no antivirus because I don't take it online but have the same issues as the other two XP sp3 units.
