My investigations into audio sync issue

No kidding, sound like a fun.
FYI, DVDFab 6 and DVDFab 7 coexist without any problems. And when you done with your batch, please install and activate DVDFab 7 and run "This is it"
If your OS is Windows 7, don't forget install "as Administrator" and activate "as Administrator"

I've only been working from HD these past couple of days, I did that to rule out the variable of the DVD drives. The results back in post #9 were based on HD -> Mobile. I've confirmed that the raw HD rips are all "fine" in regards to audio sync. Then confirmed that again by the one run I did using the "Pass Through" profile to get from 4 VOBs to 1 VOB.

I still have a batch of conversions running with 6.2.2.0, so I'll wait until those are done (just for the sake of knowledge) then I'll install 7.0.5.1 and re-run the batch.

So maybe there's a problem with the way DVDfab handles 23.976 fps in DVD to Mobile mode...

So maybe there's a problem with the way DVDfab handles 23.976 fps in DVD to Mobile mode...

As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, muxer with different framerate settings for audio and video could cause this problem.

My MediaPC isn't overclocked, and "same as source" is always selected. The "GPU Use" is on by default I think, but I will try it turned off and post results.

Lots of good discussion today! BTW...I used the "generic.avi.xbox.bigscreen1" profile for all my conversions...good and bad ones.

OK...I tried a DVD>Mobile conversion 3 different times using ver 6.2.1.8 and 7.0.4.0. I turned off "GPU Use" and also separately "CPU Turbo"...no change. I'm now trying it on verion 6.2.1.8 with BOTH turned off. I'll download 6.2.2.0and try again when it is done.

I don't know if it helps but I have also had trouble with Max Payne. I have only had a chance to convert a few movies and this is the first issue I have come across. I am using avi xvid sourceaudio setting.

Whoops, I missed this post...

I am running Win7 (64bit on a quadcore) and I did _not_ do the install as admin (though, I am an admin on my own machine - and yeup, I understand the difference ). I'll let the current batch finish, then uninstall and re-install as admin and run it again. That should at least collect data around if installing as admin is required.

Can you define "trouble"? Is it the audio sync issue we're talking about or something else?

Has anyone got this to work at all. I am experiencing the same problems - audio synch issues - as well as corrupt video.

With WMV files i get completely corrupt video - just like a digital signal breaking up on your TV.

With WMV and MKV I get audio synch propblems. I have not tried any other formats.

I have a GTX 280 vid card with a Q9450 proc + Vista 64.
I have tried all combinations of Cuda/Software/core avc codec encode/decode.
I have tried various bitrates.
I have tried deinterlacing.
I have tried disabling path player.
I have also tried running on a Vista 32 laptop which can only run software / encode decode.
I have been trying this since ver 7.0.1.0 right up until the latest 7.0.5.1 but it is still the same.

Always the results are the same.

Has anyone got this to work? I would be interested to see the settings used....

Note.. VOB pass-through _does_ work, so the raw rip is ok.
